• They’re trying to promote the fight by manufacturing “controversy” over seemingly trivial issues
• Or they’re highly-respectful of Canelo’s ability and are seeking to gain every possible advantage they can
Team GGG probably understand that their show business type “complaining” antics aren’t going to adversely affect Canelo’s mind-set, as the Mexican is experienced enough to remain calm whenever his opponents’ try their upmost to p¡ss him off, and nor will they have any impact on the outcome of the bout.
I suspect that Golovkin and his team are simply trying to gain the media’s attention as often as they can to publicise the bout, with their ultimate objective to generate more PPV buys.
I hope that fight fans, casual mainstream ones and the hardcore fraternity, don’t read too much into all this so-called “controversy”, because it’s borderline WWE style amateur dramatics!
Simply put: this is a contest between two highly-experienced veterans that have been professional for a combined total of more than 25 years, competed in 91 pro bouts and engaged in 32 world championship fights (excl. lineal and RING title defences). None of this fȕck¡ng bȕllsh¡t matters one iota!
