Athletes across the sporting spectrum are lasting longer these days.
Top fighters recording one of their personal best wins or even the very best win of their career in their mid to late 30's is not that unusual.
Maybe no excuses will be needed. Last time out it struck me that Alvarez looked much the older man, conserving energy and fighting in bursts, unable to match Golovkin for workrate. For what it's worth it didn't care who won the first fight, I just wanted to see an epic contest. If I'm partizan now it's because I don't like injustice.
