I had it GGG 116-112 Canelo.

Daft result... but that’s Vegas for you.

Just listened to radio commentary and it seemed like GGG was a narrow winner but given the big picture the result is no great surprise.

Sums up my thoughts on the fight (and the 1st one)
Some of the middle rounds were quite close and I played Mexican judge and gave those to Canelo, but still ended up with 7-5 or 6-6 rounds won.
Kind of thought GGG would have to blow Canelo away for him to get a decision though.

It was a great fight again though.

Golovkin won, I was watching the fight closely. I love both guys and I will admit that I prefer GGG. However, GGG won that fight to me I can't even see a draw I had it 116-112 GGG I don't understand it was honestly bollocks honestly, I am bewildered.

Teddy Atlas said that Canelo was smaller than he was in the first fight. I think we all know why.

I was scoring Canelo friendly knowing what the scorecards REALLY would look like and I had the fight 8-4. There's NO WAY Canelo won this f'ng fight.

Oscar put your fishnets on buddy and start growing out your hair because YOU ARE Don King.

Anyone that had Canelo up in this one is dead to me. Don't even try because you have nothing to stand on.
Talking of 'I called it' I remember you saying Spike was a legit dangerous threat to GGG. I laughed at you and said eh wasn't, you then gave some shit about me only looking at Spikes record and blah blah blah, when really anyone who knows shit knows Spike has NO defence.

So let's not get too complacent on stuff you 'called'. You get it wrong all the time, just like he rest of us do. Except when you get it wrong, you get it BADLY wrong. ('I tell you now as a GGG fan I'm worried about Spike' )

caldo2025 wrote: 05 Apr 2018, 07:03 O'Sullivan scares the heck out of me as a GGG fan. I don't want nothing to do with this guy. I saw his last fight and this kid is no joke. I hate these substitution situations like this where the champion doesn't really have time to prepare for another fighter appropriately and the contender doesn't have time to realize the enormity of the fight. O'Sullivan seems like he loves to ruin the favorite's night with the way he walked through Douglas recently.

I think that O'Sullivan is not the same fighter that lost to Eubank Jr and BJS. I think that this kid could give GGG a huge problem if chosen as the substitute.
caldo2025 wrote: 04 Apr 2018, 06:44 This is how a really great fighter like GGG gets upset by someone like a Spike. They don't do the research they should on the fighter and just try to keep the show on and that's when someone comes out of nowhere and humbles them all. I don't like it at all, GGG. Take your time. Fight in June instead. Who cares about a month?

He actually mocked me for only looking at Spikes record and not having seen him fight... when I suggested Spike had no skill and no defence...

GGG 116-112. The judges' tables might as well have been covered in tortillas and chili beans, because all they were occupied with was home cooking.

Have a third fight in Almaty, Canelo.

I guess this will just have to be settled in a third fight, probably a year from now.

But if Golovkin wants some more, he better be prepared to accept 20% next time.

His continued whining since Saturday night isn't likely to do him any favors in future negotiations.

Even more impressive then that he stood in the middle of the ring and pressed the action.

Yes, it is impressive. Even more impressive that "one-dimensional plodder" outboxed the boxer.

The rounds golovkin did win was down to volume. Those counters and left hooks from Canelo had golovkin mesmerized.

His face says otherwise. He was also visibly wary of that left hook to the body ripping home.

There's a reason why this was the first fight in ggg's career he gave up the centre of the ring.

Yes, Golovkin cared about defense in this fight more than when he faced Monroes/Brooks/Martirosyans. He PLANNED to box Canelo. Almost none of Canelo's left hooks landed on the body. They were "ripping" Golovkin's right elbow.

Yep I said before hand that GGG would need 9 rounds, and at least 1 knockdown to win. I knew the likelihood of him getting the nod was extremely slim with anything less.

Everybody knew that except Team GGG it seems. The decision to box was too naive even though technically it worked. If Golovkin really wanted to keep his belts, he should have stood and traded with Canelo.

I mean I don't really know how he could've fought a better fight honestly. I think he did as well as he could. You can't just throw bombs all night willy nilly. It's not like Canelo is a heavy bag. He's moving, and punching back himself. You gotta do something to do defend yourself, and set up your offense.

I thought Golovkin won, but he'd win need to win OVERWHELMINGLY convincing in order to get the decision against Canelo, and it just doesn't seem he can.

Which is BS. You shouldn't have to beat a guy by multiple rounds to deserve the victory. If you win 7 rounds or 8 you deserve the nod, but apparently that ain't good enough when you're up against the promoters baby
