It would put him around 30-50 in the atg heavies

Near 30 if the Wlad win gets better with age

Near 50 if the Wlad win gets worse with age and people see it as an old past it champion. Add into that wilder is a champion of 39 nobodies 1 good win, and Joshua seems to be very negatively received on here

However if you look at his record, even with them wins it’s still pretty thin in ATG senses

I love it when you stumble upon what appears to be just a regular thread and discover nuggets of gold like this :yay:

I bet I can win a chess match all day against you.
Wow!!! You are unbelievable.
Seek help. You need therapy
What a silly coward you are, not take the challenge, simply say that I'm the one who needs help lol.
I've never played a game of chess in my life.
As for being a coward. Challenging anyone to a contest over the internet is the definition of cowardice. As neither of us will ever meet face to face.
You really need mental help I hope you get it

This thread has lots of comments by people that know nothing about boxing history. Fury beat a 39 year old champion. If he beats Wilder he'll be the #2 heavweight in the world. If he beats AJ, he'll be #1 and he'll have won three important fights. Some people on here think that puts him in the top 10 ever, Ha'way man, give your head a shake.

Does he rank above Jeffries, Fitzimmons, Johnson, Dempsey, Langford, Tunney, Schmeling, Louis, Charles, Marciano, Patterson, Liston, Ali, Frazier, Foreman, Holmes, Tyson, Holyfield, Lewis, Bowe and the Klitschko brothers? Nope.

No, Lewis did not beat Vitali, Vitali was ahead on all scorecards and was very very lucky the fight was stopped because of a few lucky cuts. Vitali was sitting on his chair, waiting for the next round to happen and the crowd cheered him despite the fight happened at a location Lewis was more popular. Out of a 100 fights, Lewis would win one or two and that's exactly what happened. Cowardish like Lewis is, he only wanted a rematch for over a 100 milion dollar (at that time!) from the Ukrainian (poor country) who obviously couldn't afford that. The only reason Lewis did that is because he knew he was very very very lucky to not have lost that match only on the scorecards. Byrd ain't the better boxer either and neither is Hasim Rahman (who got KOed by Povetkin in 2 rounds) and others who KOed Lewis.
Oh, hahaha, sure... You better get boxrec to update the result then.
Well, maybe you should watch the fight, then you can see that Vitali schooled this guy and that's also why Lewis retired so early in his carreer, because he knew he would have lost terribly otherwise.
Lewis won. That sir, is a fact. Lewis wanted to go out on top and he did. Live with it.

Also, would it be possible for you to stop posting complete and utter drivel? :maybe:

:TU: Exactly!!!!!
Arguing against this stupidity is becoming futile. Why anyone would have any of the three currently in their top 10 is asinine.

After 44 fights and at 38 years old, yes, that’s ‘early’.

I’ve seen the fight and I’m not going to get drawn into yet another discussion on the legitimacy of the outcome...

I would say its consistencey and longevity at top level that makes a fighter great and while 3 marquee wins is a good start its simply not enough to sit at the top table with the greats

No, AJ has beaten 3 Olympic super heavyweight champions, Tyson just one, Holmes 0, Ali never even faced one at all.

Oh, maybe they have beaten lighter olympic champions, I'm not a 100% sure about that.
Now I understand why people said to ignore you. What a complete fcking idiot you really are.

AJ is better than Ali, partly because Ali never beat an Olympic Superheavyweight champion? Are you a troll, stupid or a child?

These are your words, I just named the fact that he already beated 3 super heavyweight olympic champions of the world this early in his carreer, something nobody ever achieved in history. Ali has also done things that are amazing, especially at the time. Athletes allways improve, what can I change about the fact that AJ is taller, stronger, and got better competition around him?
How the fornicate could Ali win an Olympic super heavyweight gold when it didn't become a weight class until 1984 when he was 42 & had already been in 61 professional fights?

trolls are really only an issue because people give them too much attention

the whole kalan thing really baffled me, ppl going on about how hes destroying the forum yet ppl couldve just ignored his posts and actually just have used the ignore function. i almost lol harder at the ppl who were so bothered by him, it was really funny in the boxing history section, they were all catastrophizing and some even leaving the forum. ffs just stop reading and responding to him

Yeah trolls are usually pretty funny. No-one will ever beat bnovelist for me, he was great. Credit to whichever regular poster created him as an Alt

The only troll that ever did bother me was Wes, because I genuinely believe he was actually damaging the forum with his constant bumping / changing thread titles / starting stupid polls. It made the B&I forum incredibly messy and amateurish. It’s easy to ignore trolls who are just posting (probably deliberately) stupid comments, but it’s a lot harder when they’re alllowed to start hundreds of threads every week.

Que? Joe Louis isn't 137 years old now, never mind in the forties. Mind you, if anyone had called him "robotic" then, he'd have probably got the response "What's 'robotic'?"

For what it's worth, I rank those before Ali separately to the modern era. Different gloves; more rounds; fewer or no PEDs...

So I rate Joe Louis as the greatest heavyweight even though I think he'd have lost to several who came later, because he won 34 fights in a 14-year unbeaten streak. Of the modern era I'd choose Holmes.

Fair enough. I wouldn't argue because I think comparing fighters of different eras is a minefield. The point I was getting at is that it's normal to underrate the current champion and probably always was.

I remember plenty of people putting down Lennox Lewis while he was fighting but now he has been elevated to demigod status like Foreman, like Ali and many others.

I wasn't being disrespectful to Louis but I'll bet there were plenty of people back then saying he couldn't hold a candle to Dempsey, Johnson or Tunney. Until he deals with Wilder and Fury it's too early to speculate really, but I wouldn't be amazed if one day Joshua is reveared as the best of the lot.
