Teddy Atlas Podcast - Well worth a listen!

Reggae-Reggae was convinced Teddy Atlas cut himself to gain a bit of street-cred.
The Tyson thing is a bit tiresome. I’m still convinced Teddy thinks he’s hard as nails. The book was full of how he’d knock out bars full of blokes with one punch.

I still love the Fireman quote with Bradley though.

Also let’s not forget the whole Horn-Pacman controversy was down to his shambolic scoring( not the first time.)

In a nutshell Atlas is an entertaining guy, but he knows what sells and will keep doing his hard man/ unjust scorecard stories- routine-to keep his name in the limelight.

Haven't listened to the full thing but have watched a few clips on YouTube. His claim that Tyson's record should really be 0-5 because he folded whenever he faced adversity is ridiculous.

Edit: 0-6 that should be.

Rogan is quality

Yes the best thing about the interview is that he just let Teddy speak, which is gold dust to us fans who could listen to these old timers all day long....3 hours of entertainment, history and education for me.

Shame Kugan cant do the same hey?!

Not sure Rogan could get a word in with Atlas there, quality listen though.

Yes and Rogan has no problems disagreeing with people either.....so many interviewers just pander to their every whim i.e Kugan and whoever he interviews

Teddy Atlas has always been an enjoyable listen/ read imo.
I've tried to download this as don't currently have my own wifi....but You-tube seems to cost about 12 quid a month now
I guess I need wifi in that case. According to the link it's over 3 hours long.....is Teddy on it the whole way through?

easy to forget atlas was a doctor's son from a well off family, he has got the street thug routine down to a tee. he's a great talker and feel like could listen to him all day.

Yes it is basically 3 hours of Teddy talking non stop, Rogan hardly has to say anything.....he talks about old time fighters, Tyson and a few modern fighters along with his family history....worth a lisetn as he is really passionate fellow

I listened to the podcast and for half a second Atlas had me wondering, then as i worked my mind back through Tysons losses i quickly realised Atlas was full of sh*t. I dont understand why anyone would buy into the nonsense, especially knowledgeable boxing fans.

Only in the Holyfield 2 fight did Tyson look for a way out. He did not fancy the job that night. Make of it what you will.

I could not give two hoots about the Williams and McBride fights, he was shot to sh*t by then and just making money.

He was well past his best when he fought Lewis, he lost to the better man than night, as he did with Douglas and Holyfield 1. There is no shame in loosing a fight. In each fight he showed tremendous heart and will power to continue fighting. Against Holyfield and Douglas he wanted to continue, the ref pulled him out, no shame in that, he never quit, his heart did not desert him, he did not hide behind any fcuking wall as Teddy would suggest. I dont recal if he wanted to get up after the final Lewis knock down that ended the fight, but anyhow, he took real punishment in that fight also, the final punch that finished it was a real KO blow, again Tyson showed heart here, he was just not good enough to win that night.

Teddy is an ass hole for talking about Tyson like that. Tyson showed he had a tremendous chin and the heart of a lion. Holyfield 2 is the only real blemish and the only fight that gives Teddy's comments some weight, otherwise he never hid in the ring, never looked for a way out, he took his beatings and losses like a true warrior.

Screw Teddy Atlas for that rant.

I actually find it quite infuriating that a lot of people are agreeing with Atlas on this, and praising him for having the balls to 'tell it like it is'. He is talking horse sh*t, i defy anyone to watch any of Tysons losses to Douglas, Holyfield 1, or Lewis, and tell me he was hiding behind some fcuking wall, he bottled it so to speak. Absolute nonsense, he was just not good enough on the night and got knocked out after fighting his heart out, and taking massive punishment before being stopped.

Anyone here disagree, i fancy an arguement over this
