Boxrec ranks Hanks as 28th in the US or 119th in the world.... :o

Come on surely they can do better.... A card thats going to have a decent viewing both sides of the pond is a great opportunity for Joyce.

If he isn't going to step up to world/continental level for this fight Joyce should be offering Carman a shot at his Commonwealth belt. I thought he was going to the US because there were more big fights available? doesn't look like it with this matchup.

According to reports, Washington declined the fight. Which is a shame.

No one wants to really fight Joyce. But PBC have a big roster. They could have found SOMEONE.

Shows the depth of the division when no one is brave enough to take on a 6-0 guy, Joyce is a big strong unit but apart from that he has little else, he actually looks like he is boxing underwater most of the time.

So what is Joyce' status with David Haye. Haye came out and said he is still involved with Joyce.... but it is a tad weird now seeing Haye stating he believes Chisora can be the best in the world.

Haye is a great salesman. He’s a promoter. He’s says things to sell fights. HayeMaker promotes Joyce. Joyce as he is spending more time in America, there’s probably better fights there, he’s signed up with Al Haymon to be his advisor. So he’s now also affiliated with PBC. So he’ll appear on PBC cards.

If and when Joyce returns to fight in the UK. HayeMaker promotions will be dealing with fights.

As for Chisora. He’s signed with Matchroom Boxing. They promote him. He’s signed Haye as a manager/advisor to guide the remainder of his career. Same shït. The more money a Chisora makes, the more Haye makes.

I know Ruthless, just wondering if there were any changes to the situation since Haye and Chisora struck a deal. It just seems odd that only a couple of months ago - Haye was calling out Chisora as a stepping stone for Joyce. Now he's a world champion in waiting.

While Hearn promotes both Whyte and Joshua - I don't think he's made any secret who he thinks is better out of those two. He wants Whyte to do well so a Joshua vs Whyte 2 fight can make him the most money.... but there is no way he'll be ever calling Whyte the best heavyweight in the world. Haye just seems to be contradicting himself as soon as Chisora signed his name, as he's called both Chisroa and Joyce a world champion in waiting - they both can't be.

Haye is full of a lot of bullsh*t

Hearn riding on the back of a decent scrap and whacking it on ppv is hilarious

I've seen Hearn pull similar stunts in terms of contradicting himself regarding fighters, but that was when fighters did change promoters...such as saying Frampton was better than Quigg and the box office star one minute and then completely reversing that statement the next. But that was understandable.

Surely Joyce must have been a bit p'd off with Haye bulling up Chisora's chances even against AJ.

Joyce has got to be careful.
Saw Hanks a couple of years ago against a couple of Somalian opponents. He looked good.

Also remember him against a few Germans in France I think. Looked solid. High IQ.

Remember early in his career he started at a very low weight, then one morning he was a Heavyweight. Blamed it on Dr Zoltar I think. So may lack discipline.

But mentally strong. Remember when his childhood sweetheart Jenny died, he seemed to recover quickly.

Very complex character.

EDIT- I’ve got the wrong Hanks.

This bout will open the PPV telecast.

I'm guessing they will show Ortiz fight and then Hurd vs. Welborn before Fury vs. Wilder.
