Who has the better skillset, Lomachenko or Crawford ?
Very difficult question, I have no answer. What do you think ?

Definitely Loma and that is expected from a smaller fighter of the same level.
Re: Who has the better skillset, Lomachenko or Crawford ?
I'm undecided.
Loma's powers:
- technical abilities;
- elusiveness;
- intelligence;
- speed;
- volume (which compensates a lack of raw punching power, that's why I won't put the least in weaknesses).
Loma's weaknesses:
- taking unnecessary shots.
Crawford's powers:
- technical abilities;
- elusiveness;
- intelligence;
- speed;
- good puncing power.
Weaknesses:
- sometimes starting slow.
Note: Loma looks more special in the offence, than Crawford, and he was tested by tougher opposition.

Crawford for me, but it's splitting hairs
Re: Who has the better skillset, Lomachenko or Crawford ?
Not difficult at all. It's Lomachenko. He made Rigondeaux quit. Crawford struggled with a crippled Benavidez.

Agreed...strong arguments can be made for both fighters. Plus it can vary from opponent to opponent/one fight to the next. Some opponents test a guy's defensive skills more, some his footwork, ring generalship, etc.

Re: Who has the better skillset, Lomachenko or Crawford ?
Please clarify which Lomachenko fight you are comparing Crawford to. Loma DID completely dominate Rigondeaux, but it was Rigo who was moving UP in weight class: 2 divisions from 122 to 130.boxing_rocks wrote: ↑02 Nov 2018, 20:23Speaking about opposition, can you imagine Crawford facing Spence or even Thurman in his first fight at 147, completely dominating and winning by stoppage?
Loma did move from 130 up to 135 for the Linares fight, but you can hardly call his TKO win a complete domination because the judges' scorecards were equally divided when the bout was stopped in the 10th (85-85, 86-84, 84-86) and Linares won the 6th and 7th rounds on ALL 3 judges' scorecards.
Re: Who has the better skillset, Lomachenko or Crawford ?
Hard to say. Lomachenko has better offensive arsenal, but more defensive flaws. Despite that, Crawford has better offense than 99% boxers and Lomachenko has better defense than 99% boxers

Re: Who has the better skillset, Lomachenko or Crawford ?
Loma was winning Linares fair and square before the stoppage, not to count crappy scorecards, but that wasn't a dominant performance.boxing_rocks wrote: ↑02 Nov 2018, 20:23Speaking about opposition, can you imagine Crawford facing Spence or even Thurman in his first fight at 147, completely dominating and winning by stoppage?
Yeah, I decided to make an overall evaluation of them, not only skill-related aspects.

I just think it's Loma who has the better skill set because if don't have that his opponents will just walk thru his punches because he doesn't have enough pop on his punches to earn respect from his opponents but he compensate it with his skills.
My analysis:
Loma makes you fight his style and most of his opponents succumbed to his superior skill while Bud analyze his opponent break them down methodically and making adjustment round by round.

He's 36 years old and has been watching boxing since 1989. I've been watching since 1975 and loma isn't anywhere near the best I've seen. Great fighter though. Crawford is a mean may weather.

Loma is one of the best fighters I have ever seen, and I (1965) have been watching since Ali vs. Frazier 1. 1970 ?
Anyway, I prefer HW..............

I think Mikey can beat loma at 135. No shame in that, but I'd favor Garcia.brilo33 wrote: ↑03 Nov 2018, 14:29its all about opinions mate , not saying he is, i saying me , and i change all the time , and crawford i agree is a fantastic boxer, but there quality in the division for him still to beat first , were lomo is the top of his weight at the momentOnetimeonly wrote: ↑03 Nov 2018, 13:53 He's 36 years old and has been watching boxing since 1989. Crawford would have pulverized loma. Too big and tough.
