keep in mind that weve only had the quarterfinals, and pretty much all of those werent very interesting fights. the torunament is basically set up for the weakest fights to happen first. perhaps only glowacki vs vlasov to me seemed like a good matchup, and i thought it turned out to be a decent fight even though it was a bit lopsided in scoring

the semis look much more interesting:

dorticos-tabiti
glowacki-briedis

prograis-relikh
taylor-baranchyk

inoue-rodriguezz
tete-donaire (was hoping for tete-burnett)

now, all it will take is some good action from these to really turn things around in terms of what season 2 has deliviered

All in all though this years Cruiserweight WBSS have been dogsh1t
i thought it was way better then the briedis fight, the brieidis fight they were both so negative, but vlasov although widely outpointed never stopped trying and made glowacki work hard. the last few rounds they were slugging it out and by the end glowacki looked spent even though hed won well. i thought it was pretty decent, already in the early rounds there were more exchanges then the entire briedis-gevor fight

it wasnt quite competitive enough overall to be a really good fight, but even then i thought it was more a case of glowacki doing just a bit more round after round then really outclassing vlasov throughout

Just taking a quick look at the current boxrec ratings and of the fighters that remain in tournament they all near dominate the higher rankings.

I really hope this tournament becomes a commercial success to match the quality of the competition.

Cruiserweight have 4 of the top 7, with Usyk soon to move to heavyweight,

Light-Welterweight 4 of the top 6.

Bantamweight 4 of the top 6
