Re: Dmity Bivol vs Jean Pascal
Comfortable win for Bivol, I had him winning everything apart from the 10th where I gave Pascal a share of the round, not really sure how commentary or judges managed to find 3 rounds to give to Pascal, they mustve been impressed with his wild bursts down the stretch but I thought Bivol dealt with them fairy clearly, I thought Bivol scored a cert knockdown in the 4th, clearly caught Pascal with an overhand right but the ref for some reason never called it
Pascal is a tough guy but hasn't got it anymore to compete against the top tier LHWs, Bivol was in total control, good stiff jab, dug in some nice left hooks to the body and some sharp right hands to the head, you could tell as early as the 1st Pascal was feeling the weight of the punches and backed up whenever Bivol let his hands go, Pascal did have a few spells in the second half of the fight where he seemed to throw caution to the wind and just threw both hands but Bivol was able to cleverly take steps back and time his wild attacks
I would've liked to have seen Bivol press more later on but as I said he was in total control and was too skilled and strong for Pascal, easy work for Bivol

How do you see Yarde doing against JP? Like you say past his best but I think he could still be dangeroushandsofstone wrote: ↑25 Nov 2018, 09:40 Comfortable win for Bivol, I had him winning everything apart from the 10th where I gave Pascal a share of the round, not really sure how commentary or judges managed to find 3 rounds to give to Pascal, they mustve been impressed with his wild bursts down the stretch but I thought Bivol dealt with them fairy clearly, I thought Bivol scored a cert knockdown in the 4th, clearly caught Pascal with an overhand right but the ref for some reason never called it

I think it would be a great test for Yarde, Pascal showing that he's a tough guy to stop despite the Kovalev stoppages, be interesting to see how Yarde copes when chincheckedNightmare Roy wrote: ↑25 Nov 2018, 09:48How do you see Yarde doing against JP? I was very impressed by Bivol. great composure, he was in total command throughout, never once out of control.
The light heavyweight division is deep with talent at the top.
This division might even draw Ward out of retirement at some stage???

Decent win for Bivol. It appeared be a 'learning on job' as a world champion type of performance. I was expecting a bit more from him because as tough and stubborn as Pascal was, he's clearly not the fighter he once was either.
Even in his current form, Pascal would still giving Yarde a bruising encounter.
I'd love to see the main 4 light heavy champs do a world series, but dispense with the quarter final stages and go straight to the semi's :
Beterbiev v Stevenson
Bivol v Alverez.

Re: Dmity Bivol vs Jean Pascal
Ive seen Bivol take a bit of stick lately for his performances, I think the problem is that when he was destroying everyone coming through, everybody had him tagged as the next Kovalev/Golovkin, the next monster from the Eastern Block etc then he destroyed the low level Broadhurst in a round to win the title but I think the more I see him the more I see him as a boxer/puncher, some are questioning his power but I still think he's a hard hitter, he'll KO anyone giving half the chance, I just see him as being content to box his opponents and if a KO comes it comes, I rate him highly, he has excellent timing, good footwork and a good punch variety
I'd imagine he'd box the ears off Beterbiev but Beterbiev has earth shattering power

Re: Dmity Bivol vs Jean Pascal
i agree, people became over zealous in expecting blast outs, chilemba and pascal are tough guys too. his power is solid but hes as much boxer as banger
would defo take him over bert
would defo take him over bert
Re: Dmity Bivol vs Jean Pascal
Anyone know if they showed the Kuzmin fight on allegedly's coverage? Watching the repeat and no clue from Bunce.
