Spot on. I think Wilder over trained. I’ve not seen him gas like that before.
FURY VS WILDER POLL
Re: FURY VS WILDER POLL
Probably would've been better for him to have more weight behind his shots too. I think 219 or the low 220's would've been an ideal weight to have brought into the ring.
Re: FURY VS WILDER POLL
The thing about rounds where a guy "does very little" is that he still wins them if his opponent is accomplishing less than he was.Duran1970 wrote: ↑02 Dec 2018, 12:36 C'mon people...no robbery.. if you had fury by a couple points ok...but to say Wilder only won the rounds he scored knockdowns in is very inaccurate...did fury do enough to beat the champ?...alot of those rounds he did very little..alot of posturing holding moving etc...Wilder landed little also but this was not a 10-2 or 9-3 fury..that's pure nonsense.
Re: FURY VS WILDER POLL
I don't wear pink sunglasses to think, that someone is clean among high level professional athletes. And Fury has just fought in the USA, where nobody knows thier HW champ. Fury hasn't fought yet a championship fight in Britain, it's impossible to compare reasonably his popularity with Joshua's one. In the current situation Fury is The People's Champ in the sense, that he is treated like a winner of the title fight against Wilder by the majority of boxing fans. And his performance is generally accepted as an impressive one.Quantrax wrote: ↑02 Dec 2018, 12:45Which of these two boxers have failed a drugs test, refused another and had a suspended licence for the aforementioned offences?

Which of these fighters sells out 70-90000 stadiums every time he fights?
a) Anthony Joshua
b) Tyson Fury
It's clear who is the juicer and it's clear who is the people's champion. Was Staples even sold out last night? I heard there were 4000 unsold tickets and it's only 21000 capacity.

Tyson Fury has an incredibly poor offence.

True. That is why I had Wilder winning comfortably.squiggy wrote: ↑02 Dec 2018, 13:02The thing about rounds where a guy "does very little" is that he still wins them if his opponent is accomplishing less than he was.Duran1970 wrote: ↑02 Dec 2018, 12:36 C'mon people...no robbery.. if you had fury by a couple points ok...but to say Wilder only won the rounds he scored knockdowns in is very inaccurate...did fury do enough to beat the champ?...alot of those rounds he did very little..alot of posturing holding moving etc...Wilder landed little also but this was not a 10-2 or 9-3 fury..that's pure nonsense.
Re: FURY VS WILDER POLL
..I thought Fury was edging it, considering the location, a number of close rounds and 2 knockdowns have no problem with a draw..

I didn't score it, but there was a ton of rounds you may as well have flipped a coin. 9-12 were the only clear rounds that come to mind. 8 swing rounds or so.

I watched it again this morning and I have absolutely no doubt in my mind that a draw was fair. If either fighter won by a round I'd have no problem.
People were impressed with showboating and 15-20 seconds of the end of each round for Fury.
7 rounds were close rounds.
2 knockdown rounds were clearly Wilders
3 rounds convincingly for Fury.
With 7 close rounds this was any man's fight
Re: FURY VS WILDER POLL
I had it a draw. Many rounds were close. This was not a robbery.
I think some people gave close rounds to Fury because of body language. Clowning and changing expressions shouldn't count.

Re: FURY VS WILDER POLL
Fury schooled Wilder the entire fight except for two knockdowns.
And nobody thought Fury would get up the second time.
Fury will win easily in a rematch.
But with Wilder being the champ a draw is a reasonable expectation.
The champ always gets an edge and maybe should.

Re: FURY VS WILDER POLL
It was dramatic. I doubt the replay value is much for me. Amazing that wilder came up with what he needed and even more amazing that fury got up. There was a tremendous amount of will displayed, if not skill.

I had Fury winning 2, 4, 5, 6, 7, 10, 11 and all those rounds were fairly close, Not crazy to call any of those for Wilder.

Fury has been suspended as a drug cheat, Joshua hasn't. Your opinion is irrelevant, your sunglasses are irrelevant, these are the facts.DrDuke wrote: ↑02 Dec 2018, 13:02I don't wear pink sunglasses to think, that someone is clean among high level professional athletes. Fury isn't the people's champ in any sense. He can't sell out a 21000 stadium, AJ sells out stadiums 4x that size.
He isn't treated as the winner of the fight by anyone. The fight was a draw, though some people disagree.

Ticket sales does not determine who is the champ
