Is not been properly rehydrated just as dangerous when boiling down to a weight which is known to be hard to make. Brook was never going to fight anybody to risk Khan fight. Look at what nearly happened to Khan against a non punching nobody in his last fight.
Good point , but if it was mandatory for ALL fights , boxers would have to stop trying to build up fights where they obviously are getting a huge weight advantage , or risk themselves getting hurt , If Khan accepts this fight with no clause , just for the money its Khan who's life is at risk , Brook wants it let him get down and stay down , other than that go build a rivalry with someone his own size ,,, Love him or hate him Khan has shown he's got the bottle numerous times to put it on the line , , he freely admits Canelo was to big for him but the money was good , Brooks being a boxing bully and Hearn is egging it on because he see's a ppv fight
It's Brooks life too boiling down to the weight which he's done once in nearly 2 yrs. Canelo fight had no rehydration clause so why so Brook it's double standards by Khan again. Why should Brook back down to Khan? There is no title on the line so there shouldn't be a rehydration clause.
The canelo fight was obviously just a big money fight for Khan , he got huge money , but why should he risk his life again . If Brook can't make the weight its simple go fight someone his own size , This rehdrahtion clause SHOULD be mandatory for ALL fights ,

Boxing has changed a lot over the years , with the use of peds and all sorts of shite , we have guys who are experts at getting there weight down and then rehdrating back up 20 + pounds , and getting a big advantage , Rehydration clause would be one step towards stopping it , , Brook wants to get to 147 , fine just make him stay within a set limit , ot go fight a bigger guy , This fight goes ahead without it , Khan will step in the ring around 154-155 , Brook around 175 , fook him Khan should'nt give the boxing bully the big payday , let him go fight Canelo , or somone else his own size . He won't have to take the nasal spray then , with that gyms attitude to peds , sprays , and weight loss , Khan would be silly to cave in on this .

Then why doesn't Khan go back down to 140lbs?. I do see your point but if Brook makes 147lbs then he should be able to do what he wants. A boxer has to be dehydrated before he starts getting hit in the head after weeks of training and cutting food intake right down. Khan doesn't want this fight !!

Looks to me Brook needs to focus on guys who make 154 pounds. The fight against Khan is not gonna happen. Khan has demands, and some rightly so are believable. Doesn't matter whether a belt is on the line. You still have a contract for a fight.

Mayweather and Marquez was a non-title bout, but had tonnes of clauses around weight etc.

Wasn't it a few decades ago where boxers weighed in for a fight on the morning of the fight?

Wonder why they changed to the date before.

Guys were killing themselves to make weight , so giving them chance to rehydrate was the reason , , BUT thats really before all the chemical assistance was so popular and helpful , in them days it was usually diet and training , but heh , you knew the risks and if you were prepared to put your life on the line and or were freakish enough to lose and gain weight fine , it was your life on the line , but now its other lifes on the line . ,

I'm just a big fan of seeing a rehydration clause across the board , because , i've seen how much a difference it makes when theres a big weight difference , thats why they have weight divisions , remember the saying a big good en will beat a good little en . well its true

If someone has to kill themself to make weight. They shouldn’t be competing at that weight.

Yeh I think we all knew it was him. He denied it before Brook and single were questioned about it but who else was he going to pick?

It’s like Pac-Man going with his friend Buboy.. Brook saving some cash too.. this Fewkes clearly in it til the end. He wants to lead Brook out against Khan.

Maybe a novice trainer would work for pennies and if you don't want to pay for sparring he'll have to do

Totally agree, however the problem with these clauses is that the big name fighter is happy to just pay the penalties for the advantage, and also that fighters won't turn down a payday that close to the event, because they rely on the money.

In an ideal world, we would have a proper governing body for the sport, and the penalties would be so severe for failing to make weight, that people simply wouldn't take the piss by not even attempting to do so.

I agree.

The best way for him to make more money is to win a couple of fights and then fight Khan, not reduce costs on his trainer.

I think it was badly worded as later on he says Gerald McClellan should have stayed with Steward.

So basicly he's saying Brooks needs him , but on the other hand saying he does'nt have the time to give him the full attention because he has others .
. So if he does'nt have time for a guy at the tail end of his carreer who's been with him since a kid , it sort of shows where he is at as a trainer , very mercenary , hard world the boxing world .
Hope Billy Joe and the others are taking note , when they get too within a couple of fights left , is it gonna be ,,, Off you go ,,,, NEXT
