Fair do’s, Rocky would be mad to turn the right down. He’s gonna get hammered though. Reminds me a bit of when Jennings went over to fight Cotto

3am! Main event should start after that. Unless they take the piss. New York cards tend to me earlier.

You might as wel catch Lemieux on the undercard too. I have to think Katie Taylor will go on just before the main event. Give everyone a long piss break.

Watching a few videos of Canelo working the pads.

He really feels like an ATG fighter hitting his prime just now. His combination of handspeed and power is just brilliant to watch.

I really hoped GGG would flatten him after the dirty beef scandal but Canelo won that fight, and after Lomachenkos underwhelming showing vs Pedraza Canelo is my #1 p4p.

Fieldings height advantage might make this interesting. Canelo hasn't found rangey guys easy (Trout, Lara), but i suspect his sensational body work will lead to him scoring a direct KO with a LH to the ribs, or will slow Rocky enough to close the distance and then stop him.

I had GGG knicking the second fight but it was close and Canelo deffo went up in my estimations. His footwork and ring generalship is very good. Pity he wasn't this accomplished when he fought Floyd first time, watching him against Matt Vanda years ago and seeing Oscar hang around him I thought he was a hype job but I was very wrong. He's deffo up there p4p.

He'll smash Fielding on Sat! Easy meat!

Floyd drained him though, he couldn't even stand up at the weighin. Bet Oscar regrets giving Canelo up to Floyd and blemishing his record - especially given the mistakes he made weight-wise in his career with matchups vs Bhop & Pac.

I had my doubts about Canelo myself, i remember watching him years ago get put on queer street by Cottos bro and thought he was hiding a glass chin. Bizarrely though hes never even been stunned by a shot since, even in 24 rounds with a monster like G. Maybe they've been injecting that Mexican beef into his jaw

I agree about Fielding, from a technical stand point i think he's miles out his depth. Maybe the size can make it interesting but i doubt it.

I loved the B-Hop v ODLH fight! That was class! What a body shot!

I see the Fielding/Canelo fight in the same light as Cotto/Jennings and Pavlik/Lockett.... British fighter well out his depth and will get stopped.

I'd have Loma and Crawford above him. You talk about underwhelming, but Loma still dominated in a way that Alvarez rarely does against that level of opposition. What's Alvarez actually done to warrant that claim? Since being schooled by Mayweather he's had a very debatable win over Lara and two fights against GGG where the majority thought he lost at least once. Sandwiched in between are wins against the likes of Smith, Khan and Chavez Jr. His record simply doesn't stack up when compared to the other two.

He just beat Golovkin, which is the best win any fighter has had in the sport since Marquez KO'd Pac (I would have included Ward's win over Kovalev if it hadn't been marred by controversy).

Even if you think he won that fight, the manner of his victory has to be considered. This was far from a dominant performance. If you're going to use a one-off fight like that you're essentially making a case for Danny Jacobs being ranked no. 2 as he only just lost a debatable decision to the same fighter. Context is everything.

Canelo won, and he did so moving up into a division that Golovkin had cleaned out, emphatically. I think there's a case for GGG being the greatest MW ever - even his biggest critics would agree he's at least in the conversation.

Ward's wins over Kovalev are legitimate. Kovalev was coming apart in the second fight. Kovalev quit out in that one.

Last week you were arguing that Hatton was the greatest 10 stone fighter in his era, at a time when a prime Floyd and Cotto were belt holders in the division - so i think i'll pass on your opinion.

So you are making an argument for GGG being possibly the best middleweight of all time by failing to make an argument for him possibly being the best of all time. Last week you were frantically searching Boxrec and telling us that Cotto held the WBC title at that time, which you can't even put down to a miskey and is purely down to the fact you didn't follow boxing then, so I think we are pretty much done with this week's one. And all in a single post.

I'd hazard a guess and say "No", at least not in this sense of having watched him fight.
