Miller will fight a no-hoper but Andrade-Sulęcki would be a nice fight, 50/50.

True. The latter is a decent fight in fairness. I'll give Hearn some credit for that one if it happens lol

To clarify, I don't find it interesting. It obviously isn't insignificant.

To me Andrade/Sulecki is strictly a "B" league title fight. Andrade will waste him.

he may but that would very arguably be a career best, he didnt come close to wasting jack culcay (sulecki beat him too) or vanes and hasnt fought much else. jacobs had a tough time vs sulecki

Would be a cool card.

oogiebe wrote: 09 Dec 2018, 20:19 Trying to push Miller's name into a title shot with AJ, Hearn will matchup Miller to headline a card on January 18 with perhaps a fight for Demetrius ‘Boo Boo’ Andrade. No word on potential opponents. I can't see anyone too good as Miller's history of old soft touches will probably continue. Thoughts?

Michael Hunter is an enormous step up from Johann Duhaupas? Whatever you say.

They were stable mates weren't they not so long ago?. I posted a few months back how they were at one time neck and neck in the rankings and how Miller's career had left Bryan's eating dust, but it would seem the WBA disagree with my assessment whether anybody else does or not.

Hopefully we get to see if Bryan can fight or if he's ranking is the usual typical WBA political bullshit.

They used to spar but not sure when. Back in January (I think) Miller called out Bryan as he thought it would be sanctioned as an eliminator but the orgs refused it I believe. So he fought Duhaupas instead.

I also think Bryan is going to want a lot of money for this which might get in the way as he turned down $500k prior to Dinu. I will have no qualms with Miller fighting cans for the next 12 months if this is the start of his crusade against the WBA Regular corpses.

Tough to understand for someone that doesn't watch boxing outside of staring at BoxRec rankings.

maybe it´s a B league fight, but how often we get A level fights? 5-10 times per year? maybe 15 at best but 15 seems way too much imo.

In my opinion the guys who might beat Miller can be counted on your fingers, maybe the fingers of one hand. He should now be fighting meaningful opponents i.e. better than Washington, Wach or Duhaupas. People like Whyte, Ortiz, Pulev, Parker, Povetkin. Pointless him fighting the Dinus of this world and I suspect the Bryans and the Charrs too.

I don't expect him to step up against those guys unless it's against AJ as he's only in it for the money. But if he's only going to fight bums over the next 6-12 months before AJ I will be happy enough if it it is Bryan, Oquendo/Charr then face AJ to unify the WBA belts.

Also, i'm not sure that he beats any of those guys you mentioned but he's at least at the lower end of that category rather than the level of his current opposition.

The longer it is before an opponent is announced, the worse the opponent is the usual way, isn't it? :maybe:
Try and sell some tickets on Miller's name, then announce the hobo a few weeks before the fight once you round one up.

Jarrell Miller is increasingly appearing to be a protected fighter. His resume is rather weak for a fighter being promoted as one of AJ’s dead-cert future opponents’.

No doubt. It does nothing for a fighter to be 'protected,' as you say. All it does is make them completely not ready when they finally enter the ring against a top fighter. With risk comes reward.

Miller v. Trevor Bryan in the works for the January 18th card, according to ESPN. With Bryan the "Interim" WBA dumbass belt holder, talks are happening to put this one together.

Well, I certainly hope so!
