I told you about Collazo - Am I a boxing genius?

Post by Phenomenal-Nutrition »

I told you all about Collazo when I picked a Collazo UD on predictions. I now feel (with everyone saying Collazo was robbed) that I'm a boxing genious (despite usually been wrong I'll jump on my moment here). I think COllazo may be tougher to beat in some respects than PBF with that huge reach, height alongside his speed and southpaw style.

I didn't see the fight myself but allot of people are saying Collazo won so do you think there'll be a rematch? I think they'll be looking to the Baldomir-Gatti winner, although that would be pretty synical.

I hope Collazo gets another top level fight if it isn't a Hatton re-match. Margarito-Collazo would be good or maybe if RH vacates he can fight Ukral for the vacant belt.

I scored it 116-112 for Hatton (the most anyone could possibly score it for him) , but scores of 115-112 or 114-113 would be just as acceptable .

Ledderman scored one round for Collazo which Merchant gave to Hatton , I can't remember the round but I did the same . I believe I also scored the 10th even , so that's how I came up with my score .

Collazo wasn't robbed but put up a great fight and was defiently seriously underated . I feel Hatton's victory of him will look better over time as Collazo will beat some very good fighters(if he gets the fights against them).

But if the bout had been scored for Collazo , that would have been a robbery . In truth it was a close Hatton win .

I picked Collazo UD and £100 at 100/30

Close decision, it looks like Hatton did just enough, but he got his face pretty busted up in the process.

I think Mayweather, whilst not as strong as Ricky, would bust his face up and force a stoppage in about 9 rounds.

Cotto - hatton would be a pretty even fight a 50/50 fight but i'd give Hatton the slight edge.

As for Margarito I reckon he would knock Ricky out.

hatton is better off back at 140.

Well, fair play Collazo proved to be a very good fighter tonight but he wasn't robbed. I had Hatton by 2 but Collazo had some very strong moments. I expect Collazo to come back and win another world title.

I don't know about your judgement being vindicated but Billy Graham's certainly was. He never wanted Collazo. Combination of first big US fight, new weight, tough southpaw - all a bit too much to load on to one night. One would be fine, two just about ok but on the night all three seemed to have an impact. Fair play to him, a lot of fighters might have started to come apart around the 6th round when his problems were laid bare but Hatton once again showed huge heart - and in the final round when took some huge shot.

Right now I'd like to see Ricky go back down to 140 and fight Cotto. I think Ricky is the best light welter in the world and could be one of the best ever at 140 and I'd like to see him prove it cos his welterweight debut was certainly a struggle.

i found all the pro hatton predictions a bit odd, as they were emphatically hatton predictions. i did think hatton would be able to do a fair bit more of what he did in the first four rds...a lot of our worries about hatton did seemed to be magnified by collazo on the night, particularly the right hook, and the fact that he wasn't even the stronger man...however, if you want to be a true genius, you must learn how to spell the word!

How does hatton getting a UD when you picked collazo to get a UD make you boxing genius? its exactly the opposite!!!

Because 50% of fans seem to have had it for Collazo and everyone said Collazo was going to get dominated and ko'd - look at everyones predictions.

I would rather look at the facts and the judges scorecards and they read hatton UD, the predictions have no bearing on the actual result of the fight.

yes i agree. the first holyfield lewis fight was clearly a draw because the judges had it that way.

The guy he lost too, Cassiani wasn't too bad himself and had some serious power. He went onto lose to Quintana whos fighting Diaz for the right to be top prospect at 147. Collazo will go on top be a top player at 147 imo.

No actually over 60% thought Hatton won, with 10% for draw, and this was on Current Scene.

I don't see how anyone could possibly cry robbery, it was a close fight, but Collazo didn't do enough. Here are compubox stats and something I put together myself ;)

Anyone who cries robbery should go to ESB.

They should complain more about the Pereira fight when Aiken was faking his pain.

I think you'll find on the prediction thread that I picked Hatton by close unanimous decision after suffering some troublesome moments - was that not a better and more accurate prediction than what you offered?

No I'm British, he blindly supports anyone from brooklyn (where hes from)

Didn't really mean I was genius just felt justified in picking Collazo to give Hatton hell.
