i don't deny that he has a big power in his right hand but i doubt that he will knock out either Fury or Joshua (i also favour Usyk over him, i just think that Wilder wouldn't land clean on him, but it's just a guess, first Usyk must finally move to the HW) we will see. defeating old (but still good) Ortiz in a close bout and losing (sorry, i just can't see it even as a draw, imo at least 114-112 Fury) to Fury is still not enough to call him a A+ fighter. i will give A+ only to Usyk (at CW), Crawford and Lomachenko, maybe also Golovkin (but he's slighty past his prime) and Inoue (i'd rather give him A for now, but he clearly has A+ potential)
i just think that A+ should be awarded only to really wery special (almost unbeatable) fighters with big accomplishments, Wilder is very beatable and before Ortiz he was defending his title vs weak opponents. i also think that there shouldn't be more than one fighter that is ranked A+ in one division (except of very special cases like prime Mayweather and Pacquiao)
A+ level active boxers

OK, Wilder might be beatable ( not very beatable, surely) but, on the other side he is capable to KO anyone.dagilechia wrote: ↑15 Dec 2018, 12:27and so i did. "Almost unbeatable" fighter doesn't exist. I remember Teofilo Stevenson, he has been my hero, during my childhood, and even Teofilo had some losses.
Personally, I think Spence is a little bit better than Crawford.

Crawford, Loma, Spence, Usyk, Fury, AJ, Canelo, GGG, M. Garcia and probably Jacobs.

Re: A+ level active boxers
Wilder got outboxed by an out of shape-semi-retired Fury.
Re: A+ level active boxers
That's a bit harsh...

Re: A+ level active boxers
surprised that nobody mentions Inoue
Re: A+ level active boxers
Good point. Monster looks indestructible..
Re: A+ level active boxers
Re: A+ level active boxers
Nery should have consideration as well. WE overlook the lower weight classes. Like that minimum weight dude whose name I forget just now.

Re: A+ level active boxers
yeah and except of us nobody mentioned him, surprising but it's probably because he's asian = less hyped
Re: A+ level active boxers
Well for me, in MY time...I was a big fan of BW's/FW's when Olivares; Chacon; Castillo, etc were ruling, so I have some history in following the lower classes. Used to watch Boxeo Professinale on UHF stations. All Mexican channels that I got somewhat fuzzy, but enough to develop a huge respect or the Mexican fighters. Never a dull moment!
Re: A+ level active boxers
this is a pretty solid list overall . id have inoue at a though if guys like dj, alvarez, gvo, and berchelt are. too soon for me to put nav in these groups as well but good potential for sure
loma for me might fit into a+ too, if not then the best guy not there.
overall though nice guideline

Re: A+ level active boxers
not everyone has a hw boner like you though bruh
Re: A+ level active boxers
Btw Joshua isn't A+ indeed. A is his maximum. He gotta be more fluid and creative for A+. While Fury should be A+, cause The Gypsy King is too special for being lower.
Re: A+ level active boxers
Obviously the criteria for rating an A+ boxer is debatable.
In my humble opinion, an A+ guy is the one who is more than 50/50 against everyone else in their respective division.
Loma
Joshua
Inoue ( next year after WBSS)
Crawford
C Smith
Usyk
I can't think of any others that warrant the + on the A. Heaps of A fighters, but you have to be very special to get the +...

C. Smith ? No, definitely.KiwiRider wrote: ↑15 Dec 2018, 14:53 Obviously the criteria for rating an A+ boxer is debatable.

Inoue ? I am not sure, I haven't watched a lot of his fights, and his opponents were not on highest level, definitely. I agree, let us wait the outcome of WBSS.
Re: A+ level active boxers
Sorry, I can not understand you properly.....
Re: A+ level active boxers
You think there is a SMW out there with a better than 50/50 chance of beating Callum Smith?
Did you watch Zurdo against a guy who hasn't fought anyone past journey men last night? Or the first time they fought?
Callum Smith is a beast at SMW!
There is no way Bob Arum would be dumb enough to even contemplate putting Zurdo in the ring with him...
