For the second fight he adapted, outboxed him, got tagged considerably less -- but Alvarez got the decision presumably on the grounds that he was coming forward for much of the bout. GGG got robbed on both occasions, and now as he's 36 we'll never get to see just how great he might have been.

I mean this out of curiosity, since I haven’t watched every single second of Danny Jacobs’ three bouts since his moderately controversial loss against GGG, but has the “Miracle Man” consistently delivered impressive performances in the 21 months that have transpired since he suffered his most recent defeat?

Danny Jacobs is on the cusp of turning 32 years of age and he’s so physically big that his age may make it extremely challenging for him to make the 160lbs weight limit.

I could be wrong, because I’ve only ever seen a handful of Danny Jacobs’ bouts, but there’s every possibility that the "prime" version of the “Miracle Man” that we saw face GGG no longer exists. So I think he can be competitive with Canelo, but he might be too old and weight-drained to upset the Mexican.

I feel that Danny Jacobs is capable of enjoying a lengthy reign of his IBF championship, as long as he’s the recipient of beneficial circumstance and selective matchmaking, but there are levels… And I don’t think he can beat Canelo unless he is able to enter the ring at his 100% prime. And I’m not entirely sure if he’s able to do that anymore.
