Just watched a recording. Canelo looked deadly. He‘s powerful and clinical.

I stupidly forgot to record the show so just caught up on here. Sounds like the mismatch everyone expected, although I did hope Rocky could take it a bit later.

Me too. But Rocky wasn't able to do anything to prevent Canelo going inside and mauling him down.

ya canelo just leisurely strolled inside, rocky hardly threw a jab, seemed from start like rocky was just fighting to survive with hands up, but canelo broke him down quickly

Bullshit fight imo, not due to rocky but let’s face it Canelo should never have been allowed a rehydration clause and I don’t believe for one second he’s got that big so fast eu-natural.

I’m glad rocky got his big payday and fairytale fight and I think he did what he could in the ring, I just don’t think making him give up his weight advantage when he was giving up every other advantage already was fair and to me Canelo is not a super middle weight champion.

He would get blown away by smith at full smw.

I don’t think it was embarrassing on Rockys part, the advantage he had was being bigger than Canelo and they took that advantage away from him. What good is being tall and having a reach advantage if you’ve not got the weight to back it up. What rule is next Canelo wants to move up to cruiser weight but usyk has to balance on one foot and only use his left hand while only being allowed to eat one bowl of coco pops the week before the fight, no water in his corner and all drug tests are suspended?

You either move up and fight within the constrictions of that weight class or you don’t imo.

Catch weights are BS for a title, regardless of what title it is.

Huh? Canelo vs Fielding wasn't a catchweight.

I'm normally a bit more measured about this type of thing but I'm inclined to agree. The lack of humility he showed after the second GGG fight gets overlooked but for me said a lot about the guy given the circumstances leading up to it.

Setting rocky up for life at the fans expense. Typical Eddie Hearn match up.
Mate, Rocky got stuff all for that fight. After tax and expenses I doubt he would have enough for a Eastern European hand shandy behind a skip bin.
If he was'nt well paid , he's a fool and Hearn is a coont , For me the only reason to take that fight was to sell the belt , if he did'nt get well paid he's too stupid to warrant being paid at all

Yeah I agree.

I became a fan years ago after watching Trans World Sport when they did a feature about a ginger Mexican boxer.

Apparently there is a decent sized ginger population in Mexico who are descendants of Irish immigrants.

Was there a clause about weight , I do agree with the sentiments about Canelo , has much has i admire his skills , i still think he's a cheating prick who gets to much of his own way ,

I gave read he got paid a £ mill

To be fair, he is a decent lad but he isn’t even the best at his weight in Liverpool never mind the World.

His options were to make a dozen defences on undercards or one big fight for the same money.

If your talking 7 figures , well i would call that good money for a limited fighter like him , winning the belt he hit the jackpot being able to cash in at 7 figures , but if its what others have suggested around 100-150 grand , he's a fool , I'm not privvy to the info so can only have an opinion on what i rtead , off course not that my opinion matters , its just that a opinion from a boxing fan

Not really sure what Fielding's tactics were, he never got the jab off or used the ring to keep Alvarez on the outside, it was too easy for Canelo to get inside and work the body, you seen the knockdowns/stoppage coming a mile off, even when Fielding let his hands go in a couple of bursts you knew there wasn't much thought in it, as much as I like Fielding he defo froze on the big stage, probably the easiest win of Canelo's career

He'll get Danny Jacobs a shot a Alvarez, why's he worried. And have Alvarez' fights on the network he's in with.

Golden Boy was the promoter. Fast car just provided a couple of fights for the undercard.
