I always thought Fran kWarren must have hated Chisora: he threw him to the lions so early, signing him to fight prime Wladimir very early in his career when he was nowhere near ready. Wlad then jerked him around pulling out twice before finally signing to fight Haye. This is why Chisora came in to fight his big domestic rival Tyson Fury in such dreadful shape the first time, with tits and everything. If he hadn't been so disheartened by the Wlad pullouts, he might have come in in better shape, but I can't call that his prime because he looked such a mess.

You mean Vitali.. I don’t think he was thrown in the deep end too quick. He progressed quickly.. beat all the Domestic fighters. Had an opportunity and took it. To date, it’s his only world title fight. He was at his best then.

He is only 34 so could easy have another dozen fights. Dereck has done pretty well financially as he is exciting to watch and very likeable, so I think the trend will continue, tough fights and gatekeeper.

He also had a good run in 2014, and he also posted a solid performance against Whyte in 2016. Even his performance against Vitali in 2012 was solid. But his fight with Helenius was tainted due to Helenius having a shoulder injury.

I'd say roughly 2012 to present or 2013 to present. The earliest that you should place him in his prime if you're going broad would be 2011 around the Helenius fight.
