Anyone who has decent footwork and can punch a bit will beat him. He's too slow and too one-dimensional. Can't rate his chin based on this fight and he's not fought any crackers yet. Oh, and of course, all opinions. Yes.

Is anyone fishing this evening? What's the water like? Any nibbles?

I'd actually like to see him in vs hughie fury to see how he'd cope vs a runner. I'm not saying he's a world beater, but I suspect him to be a right spoiler. I could see him throwing decent fighters out of their game plan.oogiebe wrote: ↑23 Feb 2019, 18:21Anyone who has decent footwork and can punch a bit will beat him. Yep issue with being amateur for so long is that trainers don’t really care about explosive power. If he became pro early 20s, he could’ve trained a few years working on that with his style you need that get out of jail card. He’s no Tyson fury, AJ or wilder would run him over

Bryant Jennings would be a perfect step up fight for him. Boxer/puncher who's been in with the big boys, but maybe not good enough to give Joyce a tremendous amount of trouble.Steveh583 wrote: ↑23 Feb 2019, 18:25I'd actually like to see him in vs hughie fury to see how he'd cope vs a runner. Joyce looked awful, but its still probably good enough to be top 10-15. Dont think hes really learning on the job, just doing what he does. Think any fighter with a bit of explosiveness will be his undoing.

Joyce lands most of his best shots straight after taking one; he's almost the epitome of take-one-to-land-one, and that's fine up to a certain level.
And while it's daft to say that anyone who boxes to his standard is too nice for it, he seems to prize shots-landed over less frequent hurtful singles. No bad thing, but in combination with his willingness to let opponents fire at will to create clean paths for his punches in reply, it'll be riskier as he climbs.

While we can give Bernie for taking his lumps, it was still 6 one sided rounds where he did next to nothing.

Joe's definitely one of those "better than he looks" types.
He IS slow, predictable and easy to hit, but it's not like he doesn't have serious good points too.

Can 80% Degale beat Eubank?
Or can a fit athletic Eubank box to orders?

Id like to see him vs that little American that schooled billy nelsons heavy. Forget his name, but he really impressed me. Could be a great little David and Goliath.

Exactly. Joyce would have to learn to cut off the ring and add some other offensive selections. He needs to be challenged, not keep having walkovers. Otherwise he'll get wrecked at top level, which I already think would happen.danconnollyeire wrote: ↑23 Feb 2019, 18:31Jennings could be awful for him. Which would put an end to the hyping of this mummy.
Re: Round-by-Round: James DeGale vs. Chris Eubank Jr. - 23 February 2019
For me Eubank V DeGale hinges upon how much DeGale has lost. I have no doubt he's the superior boxer but he looks to be a couple of years passed his best where Eubank is arguably still improving and strong. That's what makes it interesting.

Keep your scores on here - might be close and controversial...

DeGale edges first for me.
