In fairness nobody else has either.
biggest punchers today?/how do u determine a puncher?
Re: biggest punchers today?/how do u determine a puncher?
Biggest puncher today is probably Wilder. John Molina is a big hitter, but so flawed in other ways that it makes him still just above average I'd say, but a genuine puncher nevertheless.
How do you determine a puncher? Results my friend. Knockout results. Particularly if you're able to stop guys that either A) Nobody else has beaten or B) Nobody else has stopped.

By your methodology Gil, Joshua should be mentioned. He has taken a few "0" s by knock out.gilgamesh wrote: ↑24 Feb 2019, 13:10 Biggest puncher today is probably Wilder. Joshua is undoubtedly a very big puncher. He'd have to rank among the Top 10 Punchers going at the moment for sure. Though the Welterweights are chock full of talent I don't know that I'd consider any of those guys to be punchers. Errol Spence is probably the puncher of the bunch, and even he seems like a guy that's more athletic and a boxer/puncher type than an outright puncher.KiwiRider wrote: ↑24 Feb 2019, 15:01By your methodology Gil, Joshua should be mentioned. No question Inoue is top 5. Prograis hits pretty hard too.
Re: biggest punchers today?/how do u determine a puncher?
Yeah I'd consider Prograis to be a bigger hitter than any of the current Welterweight or Lightweight crop. Save for maybe a John Molina type who isn't exactly Elite, but still a big banger. He's one of those guys who's Power saves him from being completely mediocre.
Beterbiev and Kovalev are still pretty big hitters, arguably Top 10 or 15. Dorticos and Gassiev at Cruiserweight are big punchers.
There's gotta be some other guys like Molina we're all forgetting who are kinda middle of the road fighters, but are known for having a big punch.
