Yep, that’s the point. It is what the American public love and pay for
If it's the kind of silliness that is only staged for Americans, then can you explain Tyson Fury?

He started his act long before he traveled to America to take on Wilder.

He must feel that over-the-top theatrics appeals to the British too.

That's all I ever hear when Yanks insult Brits. At least the French, Irish have good insults. All American's can do is shout food items (not surprising, those American's love food above all else)

Anyways, I'd take fish and chips as a complement. A nice, big piece of Westcliffe cod, some Leigh-on-sea cockles. Thick chips with vinegar. Mushy peas eff if someone called me that I'd think they're coming on to me. Also, crumpets are effing amazing mate

I guess the comeback would be "some fried sh1t covered in sugar and salt"

But you don't serve your fish and chips on newspaper anymore!

The Asleep Lamps wrote: 19 Feb 2019, 19:05 He will make sure to keep Joshua motivated for the fight with his mouth like fellow Americans Martin and Breazeale did  . It is a bit annoying though. They don't have the personalities that Fury and Wilder do.
Miller talks the talk way better than Wilder. With Wilder, it's just parroting key phrases and shouting. With Miller, I have no idea what he is on about  but it is tweaking AJ's humble cloaking.

I can hardly understand a word that Miller said at the "presser". I despise those stupid staged things. They do not want the fighters to act civil like gentlemen sportsmen, not in the US and UK they don't, and they instruct them to behave in keeping with their desire to titillate the tv crowd. And I agree with you, Wilder just sounds like a fool. And Joshua was losing his cool.

Next on the WWE boxing stage, masks - oh wait they're doing that already!, and folding chairs over the head (that's next!). Idiotic "pressers" notwithstanding, this should be an interesting fight - provided it's on the level for a change. I'm picking Miller to KO Joshua by steamrolling him like he did to Adamek - a much smaller man. On the other hand if Miller stands there in punching range like he did against Wach - uh oh another very big man! - Joshua will use him for a heavy bag. I don't know maybe I should pick Joshua duh.

Should be an interesting fight. I hope they select an honest referee and judges . What r the booky odds against that, 100 to one?

The funniest thing was when David Haye broke the bottle on Chisora. "He glassed me!" Those aren't the kind of role models we want to emulate though. :shame:

It's weird, isn't it?
Well, it's weird for me. Poms don't get hassled about fish and chips. Kiwi's get hassled by Aussies over fish and chips (and sheep). Maybe Miller got his countries mixed up?

The French call us “Ros Bif”

I thought it was because we traditionally ate roast beef on Sunday but a French mate said it’s because they think of us as all red and sunburned. Neither matters that much to me. It’s sort of funny.

Fish and chips and tea and crumpets is super pathetic. He had banging Khan’s wife, ducking Wilder’s 50 mil, supporting mugabi, being racist, AJ’s multiple hypocrisies, him claiming he lives with his mum but apparently living in Dubai, AJ’s obvious acne for the Wlad fight, being gifted wins in the Olympics; the only thing he went in on was the 20lbs in a year and AJ being “posh” (which nobody thinks he is) and prattling on about crumpets.

He’s a shit trash talker.

There will be a 10 second highlight clip of a 300 pound man hitting the canvas.

Come on! We want to see that at least, and so do you- from 3 angles in HiDef slomo :OhYes:

Maybe the ring ropes will bow in a little. But heck yeah! I wanna see the KO, not too fussed about the whole fight. Mrs has offered to pay for it and I'm not dumb enough to argue.

If you're expecting fighters to be role models in the lead up to fights you're in for a lot of disappointments

Miller came across as a bit of a dick, but he had a reputation to live up to and there was nothing surprising about his performance.

What really gets me about (many of) these press conferences is when they open the floor up to questions and you get twenty seconds of silence while the person being addressed, strains to hear what he's being asked. Then you hear the answer to whatever question got asked which you the viewer has no idea what it was.

I mean FFS couldn't they have a microphone on a pole or something that can be targeted on each questioner in turn thus avoiding the embarrassment of looking like a bunch of clueless amateurs? It's not like it's a new phenomenon that no one has encountered before.
