yeah, and when he wasn't punching him repeatedly in the face he was throwing him round and manhandling in the clincheslefthook82 wrote: ↑04 Mar 2019, 05:00 I didn't remember Ward staying in the pocket like that. Might have to rewatach the fight

Someone like the snake never sleeps well at night,he probably has insecurities about his wife, about his man hood, about the kessler defeat about the ward defeat about sharing the commentary table with Adam about sharing the limelight with Bellew Macklin Nelson etc etc. Froch is a creature and doesnt deserve to be on the sky pay roll anymore, one horrible man he is.samwbr wrote: ↑03 Mar 2019, 07:29Knocked Taylor and Groves the eff out. Re: Why is Froch a bitter hunt?
Wrong. DeGale became mandatory when he emphatically KO'd Gonzalez, maybe that's why he didn't fancy the fight and wanted JCCR or Ward in Nottingham, anyone but DeGale.Steveh583 wrote: ↑01 Mar 2019, 12:20he could argue that he faced his mandatory in groves before he retired tho, degale wasn't a mandatory. JC was just off his prime and many were starting to tip a fresh Froch to do him in what have been a huge fight for the UK and yes, DeGale was mandatory (if memory serves) and after Froch's double struggle vs Groves..... let not forget fight 2 was not a plain sailing drubbing - infact it was seemingly heading to be a reversal of fight 1 - it was Groves who was looking stronger until the boom moment..... and many were tipping DeGale to do Froch.
But it was okay for Froch to retire after his biggest payday and "dream" fight, but not okay for JC to do the same.

You cant buy class and that's 1 thing Froch will never have. Material possessions are overrated,, do you think all rich people are happy?G0mez wrote: ↑03 Mar 2019, 08:07Maybe I shouldn’t reveal this publicly, but all of those things dog him.samwbr wrote: ↑03 Mar 2019, 07:29Knocked Taylor and Groves the eff out. I know when he took that chartered private jet to Marbella to collect the keys to his recently-completed multi million pound villa, the Dirrell fight played on his mind. As he sat in the hot tub with his Mrs, drinking the vintage champagne that the developer left him, He said he wished he’d done more in the fight to leave no doubts. He said it’s the reason he bought the Ferrari, as it helps him forget about it.
Likewise at the opening of his flash rooftop bar overlooking the skyline, he said it was overrated to be clean living, trim and in shape. That he secretly yearned to be a flabby drunken mess with cocaine habit, falling out of nightclubs whilst snogging his own sister like his forgotten welsh hero.
Re: Why is Froch a bitter hunt?
you are correct I have checked, but froch still fulfilled his mandatory vs his nearest domestic rival before retirement. I don't for one minute think Carl wasn't confident of battering degale, it's just the spoils wouldn't have been worth it, certainly not coming off the groves 2 pay chequedigzee wrote: ↑04 Mar 2019, 13:37Wrong. He was hard to like when he was boxing, so nowt has changed really. His fighting made up for any nonsense that came out of him, for me. So not boxing anymore, just makes me turn off to listening to him.
Bar one thing:
'That reminds me of the time that I knocked out George Groves in front of 70,000 people'

@Gomez,
Seeing as you are so close. Do you remember how he felt after the Ward fight? What did he think about Ward as a fighter and how keen was he to get back in with him?

99% sure Froch didn't want to run that back it was such a messy fight, Ward + Hunter are geniuses!lefthook82 wrote: ↑05 Mar 2019, 10:05 @Gomez,

Exactly...Gomez has always been a Frock bootlicker, but there is something really base about him just going on about his money, This whole idea that Carl just jerks off over his money like a messed up version of Scrooge McDuck in his money pool totally misses the fact that the biggest cause of depression for older fighters is the fact that they have nothing really to get up for in the morning, that the big nights are gone. Where is the spark?bigjack wrote: ↑05 Mar 2019, 10:15That's why so many rich and successful people kill themselves then is it ?
Froch strikes me as money rich yes, but a man wishing he was still a fighter, hence he makes it all about him, even when he is on there to talk about a fighter who is following him into retirement. He is still in press conference mode.
It is pretty sad.

Gomez sadly mistaking the fact that the size of a man's bank balance isn't a great tool to measure the worth of a man's personality.

Re: Why is Froch a bitter hunt?
I do have some sympathy for Froch. He suffers from the same thing that Larry Holmes did. Larry Homes was a superb fighter, but not as good as a prime ALI, who came before him, and not as good as a prime Tyson, who came along at the end of his career.
Like Holmes, Froch was a superb fighter but not quite as good as Calzaghe, and we know that he was not as good as Ward. Still, a superb career and, as he says, earned pots of money, which most boxers don't. Just wish he would be a bit more gracious about other fighters.

It wasn’t that messy from my memory, just very one sided. Ward beat him up convincingly, for what was boxing at the elite level.kbackup408 wrote: ↑05 Mar 2019, 10:3199% sure Froch didn't want to run that back it was such a messy fight, Ward + Hunter are geniuses!lefthook82 wrote: ↑05 Mar 2019, 10:05 @Gomez,

Re: Why is Froch a bitter hunt?
Gomez is good poster and seemingly very intelligent i’d Imagine he’s doing ok!!! Carl is his close pal, I think we can all be guilty of defending our pals.
Not everyone cares about being liked, in fact even less so as you get older. I can absolutely get that Carl is happy despite not being overly popular with the British boxing public..
Carl is still in good shape so probably hasn’t mellowed yet and is therefore still commentating with himself in mind, I think he will in a few years. I hope he does anyway. The guy is ultra competitive to a fault.
Re: Why is Froch a bitter hunt?
Froch gave more to the fans in the ring than any other Brit of my life time. He seems happy enough to me.
A few years back when Pac was demolishing everyone and the calls for Mayweather to fight him were at fever pitch... They asked Duran who was the best Pac or Mayweather... Duran mulled it over for a few seconds and then said...
Honestly, I'd have to say it was me.
