Question: How are the rankings affected by
My vote: Pulev drops to #8, Dinu remains unranked.
The voting will last until the end of 30.03.2019
Maybe, but not on the basis of this result. I see Bogdan Dinu as similar in many respects to Gerald Washington in that he's a tidy enough boxer but who lacks the mental (and maybe physical too) strength to overcome adversity and go on to beat a good opponent. Having said that he' (Dinu) is not rubbish and Pulev did win.
Miller also lost the first 2 rounds against Dinu, remember. Personally, I'd like to see Miller's next fight before moving him up, especially as around Miller's last fight there was a lot of talk about dropping him and moving Kownacki up (which couldn't happen, as Kownacki hadn't fought).jamamb wrote: β27 Mar 2019, 12:02 i just think millers a better fighter and for the knocks on his resume i think over the last few years its no worse then pulevs. he also did a better job on dinu then pulev did...pulev actually looked like he could lose that and it was 'oficially' even in the 7th. i think miller would beat up pulev.
100%.jamamb wrote: β27 Mar 2019, 12:02 i just think millers a better fighter and for the knocks on his resume i think over the last few years its no worse then pulevs. he also did a better job on dinu then pulev did...pulev actually looked like he could lose that and it was 'oficially' even in the 7th. i think miller would beat up pulev.
miller did lose the first 2 but they were his typical slow start, give away rounds, at no point was dinu a threat to him or did miller look bothered, and he quickly battered him. very different dynamic to pulev-dinu were dinu looked a real threat , badly cut pulev, and like he could win and was even on the cards going into the 7th roundDeleted_Scenes wrote: β27 Mar 2019, 12:18Miller also lost the first 2 rounds against Dinu, remember. I think Miller beats Pulev too, but I can only rank based on what has happened, not what might happen.
I'd probably rate Chisora and Hughie slightly above Duhaupas, Wach etc, but that's a fair point.jamamb wrote: β27 Mar 2019, 13:20miller did lose the first 2 but they were his typical slow start, give away rounds, at no point was dinu a threat to him or did miller look bothered, and he quickly battered him. very different dynamic to pulev-dinu were dinu looked a real threat , badly cut pulev, and like he could win and was even on the cards going into the 7th roundDeleted_Scenes wrote: β27 Mar 2019, 12:18Miller also lost the first 2 rounds against Dinu, remember. I think Miller beats Pulev too, but I can only rank based on what has happened, not what might happen.
millers 'what has happened' is just as strong or stronger then pulevs over the last few years imo
miller: dinu, wach, duhaupas, washington, adamek
pulev: dinu, chisora, hughie, peter, kj
I agree which is why I said "Maybe, but not on the basis of this result". Whether Miller deserves to be rated above Pulev or not is another question (probably not on achievements to-date other than the fact he remains unbeaten) but unless you believe that their respective performances against Dinu is significant enough to affect their ranking relative to each other, then this is a different question to askingwhether beating Dinu in the manner he did is cause to promote or demote him in the rankings.oogiebe wrote: β27 Mar 2019, 12:31100%.jamamb wrote: β27 Mar 2019, 12:02 i just think millers a better fighter and for the knocks on his resume i think over the last few years its no worse then pulevs. he also did a better job on dinu then pulev did...pulev actually looked like he could lose that and it was 'oficially' even in the 7th. i think miller would beat up pulev.![]()
x2. Doesn't matter the arguments one way or another, I vote swap pulev/miller. That's what we do here.jamamb wrote: β28 Mar 2019, 12:23 i actually do think it is enough to switch them, i also still have a hard time with this 'we only can vote based on the last fight thing'. i mean, if i think miller shouldve been ahead of pulev anyway im gonna vote so.
but actually even just on dinu i think they should swap. pulev was in serious trouble and really looked like he could lose. miller gave away some rounds liike he often does then easily swatted dinu away like a fly, no trouble at all
Silly post, really. My view stands. Pulev and Miller swap positions. Pulev's performance and lack of activity prior made up my decision.
