Maybe, but not on the basis of this result. I see Bogdan Dinu as similar in many respects to Gerald Washington in that he's a tidy enough boxer but who lacks the mental (and maybe physical too) strength to overcome adversity and go on to beat a good opponent. Having said that he' (Dinu) is not rubbish and Pulev did win.

I don't think beating Dinu is enough to elevate him in the rankings, but I do think that to be demoted on the basis of a winning performance should be reserved for only really dire performances and Pulev's wasn't that.

No change is my vote.

While Pulev didn't look great, I find it difficult to drop him.

Miller has also looked poor at times (including against the same opponent), before pressing the issue and getting the job done, and his total reluctance to face any real threats also shouldn't be rewarded.

Parker also hasn't done anything lately to deserve being rated above Pulev, and did far worse against Hughie than Pulev did.

My vote is no change.

i just think millers a better fighter and for the knocks on his resume i think over the last few years its no worse then pulevs. he also did a better job on dinu then pulev did...pulev actually looked like he could lose that and it was 'oficially' even in the 7th. i think miller would beat up pulev.

Miller also lost the first 2 rounds against Dinu, remember. Personally, I'd like to see Miller's next fight before moving him up, especially as around Miller's last fight there was a lot of talk about dropping him and moving Kownacki up (which couldn't happen, as Kownacki hadn't fought).

I think Miller beats Pulev too, but I can only rank based on what has happened, not what might happen.

miller did lose the first 2 but they were his typical slow start, give away rounds, at no point was dinu a threat to him or did miller look bothered, and he quickly battered him. very different dynamic to pulev-dinu were dinu looked a real threat , badly cut pulev, and like he could win and was even on the cards going into the 7th round

millers 'what has happened' is just as strong or stronger then pulevs over the last few years imo

miller: dinu, wach, duhaupas, washington, adamek
pulev: dinu, chisora, hughie, peter, kj

No change.

While Pulev's performance was a bit off, he got it done. It wasn't bad enough to drop him down.

I'd probably rate Chisora and Hughie slightly above Duhaupas, Wach etc, but that's a fair point.

Pulev drops to #12
Dinu remains unranked

I thought Pulev got exposed against a very poor level fighter, got heavily cut and won the fight by striking his opponent illegally.

His inactivity over the last 3 years drops him below Breazeale and Kownacki.

I agree which is why I said "Maybe, but not on the basis of this result". Whether Miller deserves to be rated above Pulev or not is another question (probably not on achievements to-date other than the fact he remains unbeaten) but unless you believe that their respective performances against Dinu is significant enough to affect their ranking relative to each other, then this is a different question to askingwhether beating Dinu in the manner he did is cause to promote or demote him in the rankings.

i actually do think it is enough to switch them, i also still have a hard time with this 'we only can vote based on the last fight thing'. i mean, if i think miller shouldve been ahead of pulev anyway im gonna vote so.

but actually even just on dinu i think they should swap. pulev was in serious trouble and really looked like he could lose. miller gave away some rounds liike he often does then easily swatted dinu away like a fly, no trouble at all

x2. Doesn't matter the arguments one way or another, I vote swap pulev/miller. That's what we do here.

I get that but I think that Joe Joyce has the beating of Luis Ortiz (2019 version).

Does this mean he should be rated above Ortiz? Hell no. Not until he's achieved something.

Silly post, really. My view stands. Pulev and Miller swap positions. Pulev's performance and lack of activity prior made up my decision.

Why is that then? I'm just making the point that achievement has to be the basis of any ratings worth a dime. I mean we might believe that Hrgovic would dismantle Povetkin but that doesn't mean he deserves a higher ranking.

I have already agreed Miller beats Pulev and I wouldn't argue with anyone saying that Miller should rank above Pulev despite Pulev's career achievements being better than Miller's. My only objection is to the proposal that they should switch position based on a winning performance by Pulev. You don't demote fighters for stopping their opponent - especially one who could be described (if you're squinting or at a pinch) as a fringe contender - inside the distance.
