I think most folks scorecards reflect a dislike for Fowler, he outboxed Fitzgeraldy handily for 9 out of 10 rounds. Good fight, but Fowler on the 10 pms & 4 scoring criteria won clearly.
Not that much but IMO he edged it. Of course, him being a "nice fellow" made that split decision satisfying for many
I like Fowler and had him up by one entering the last round, so I had Fitz winning with the kd.

It's refreshing to have 3 guys- Cheeseman/Fowler/Fitz all from the same country, at the same weight, with the same promoter, and all made for each other in that fan friendly way.
I think any combination of the 3 makes a good fight.
I also think none of them beats Garcia without significant improvement

Boxrec has Fitz jumping a staggering 92 places up, and Fowler dropping 33 in the world rankings :o

Fitz is the best boxer of the three technically. Fowler might not even beat Cheeseman on that showing last night. Garcia would chin Fowler and likely beats Fitzgerald. Fitzgerald seems to have the most potential of the three. I wouldn't mind seeing a Liam Smith fight for Fitz although Eggington is more likely I'd say. Maybe that African lad who chinned Eggington a while back. Let not forget Welborn. I really don't want to see Frankie Gavin in this mix trying to stink joints out. We have some limited but exciting fighters here and some guaranteed exciting fights.

2 even rounds... and one of them is a 9-9.

People just score fights how Adam Smith and Froch tell them to.
That's just the way the collated scores works out. For that particular round the fans scoring were equally split in awarding the round and some scored even. So the average score per fighter was 9.4, hence the collaborative card had it 9-9. It's only an indicator of how a collection of fans scored it.

I had Fitzgerald winning 1,4,6,7,8 and 10 with the last of those obviously being 10-8.

No complaints at Fitzgerald by 1 rather than 3 but it was a relatively clear win IMO.

Why do people rate Cheeseman? He's nowhere near the level of Fowler or Fitzgerald.

This has been ordered by the BBBofC for Ted's British title, apparently.

Fitzgerald has the beating of Cheeseman technically to cute for him. Fowler leaves Chesseman a write off I think as well, he can whack and Chesseman is there to be hit

Not sure he's highly rated is he?its just the next relevant fight.i like Ted myself,a tough game fighter who can box better than he does a lot of the time,Garcia showing was poor & frustrating,we know that,he himself knows & admitted it,but he's a tough ol boy, don't mind seeing him in the ring

I know he's not on the level of Fitzy & fowler

This fight is up there in terms of how satisfying it was with frampton-quigg, Taylor-ohara and broner-Chino.....what an absolute tool Fowler is. Glad he was beaten. Talked alot of crap even before he turned pro and he couldn't even get to domestic level. Needs to drop back to area level. Only seen 2 full fights.....when he got iced in the 1 st round of olympics and vs fitz. Glorious night. He Talked the talk but couldn't walk the walk.

I don't mind arrogance coming from fighters who can back it up. Fowler thought he was the second coming of Froch but he might end up being the second coming of Mitchell Smith.

Nail on the head....at least when broner got found out he was a 4 weight champion....this mong wasn't even domestic level.....he got found out before British level after talking Crap for the last 3 years about how he was the next boxing icon. He's clearly deluded and is no where near what he thinks he is....aka froch 2.0. Froch never broke sweat until euro level and walked through domestic level with ease.....fowler was beat before domestic level. He needs to drop back to area level to find his level.

Just watched round 6 in isolation.

Anyone who thinks Fitzgerald won round 6 really needs to go and find another hobby. The punchline was at the end of the round Froch says in his commentary "Fitzgerald is just busier", despite throwing and more importantly landing next to nothing.

If you keep whinging on here, do you think the decision might get reversed?

He probably just wants people to agree with him. That might make him happy.

Probably not - although I'd prefer better quality posters on here. Very few folk post much in the way of substance with regards to scoring. Like i said before I'll happily rewatch and rescore any round in isolation.

Just because other posters don’t agree with you, doesn’t mean they’re not quality posters. This is a forum where people post their own views. Not someone else’s. Their own opinions.

I'm not forcing anyone to agree with me, but if I'm going to catch some flak for how i score fights then I'm willing to rewatch & rescore them. Fowler won this fight, if anyone wants to talk a lot of pish about it then I'm here willing to look at it which rounds they gave Fitz :TU:

lol if you gave Fitzy r6, he landed 1 scuffing temple shot with Fowler backing to the ropes, and absolutely nothing else.

I ain't a Fowler hater, thought they both boxed well in a very close fight but Fitzgerald won it 100%. Just great to see them get it on so early in pro career's and I'm sure we'll see it again in the future.
