Pat Stone errors

Post by wdobbin »

There are several holes in the record of Pat Stone, the Australian light-heavy who died after a bout at the Mansfield Tavern, Brisbane on August 17, 1990.
Stone, actually won a 10-round points decision in this fight, for the vacant Queensland state light-heavyweight title but collapsed in his corner before the verdict was announced.
He died the following day in hospital.
Also Wills' record going into this fight was 5-0-0, not 4-0-0.
Source: I was there, plus John Hogg's Australian Boxing Records Book.

Any reason this hasn't been fixed up, or don't you guys want people pointing out mistakes in records?

Thanks for helping us, anyone pointing out mistakes is welcome. I've corrected the result of the Stone v. Willis fight. We can't however change Willis' record coming into this fight unless we know what fight is missing from his pre-Stone record. Maybe you could help us out there.

Wills' record

Post by wdobbin »

Wouter:
The missing fight on Garry Wills' record is:
July 6, 1990: Brisbane, Australia: KO 4 Stuart Hartley
You are also missing:
Nov 11, 1990: Carindale Hotel, Australia: WDQ8 Lloyd Cole
June 2, 1991: Broadbeach, Australia: W6 James Luke
April 5, 1992: Carindale Hotel, Australia: W10 Jack Johnson
That should give you a full career record of 17 wins, 5 losses
Cheers
