There's probably no point in delaying this bout to wait for Sulecki.

Andrade is Canelo's probable opponent in September so he isn't interested in fighting any later than June.

Demetrius Andrade and Gennady Golovkin are both scheduled to compete within a few weeks of each other during the month on June, with their events televised by DAZN, but both fighters don’t have opponent yet.

Demetrius Andrade is the WBO world middleweight champion and GGG is theWBO's highest-rated contender. Both men have exclusive contracts with DAZN.

Why wouldn’t they fight each other in June? What’s the excuse if they don’t?

What happens if GGG Promotions doesn’t even bother making an offer to Andrade? Demetrius might reject the opportunity to face Gennady, due to waiting for the bigger fight against Canelo to materialise, but Gennady has to submit an offer, surely?

Andrade needs better opponents. Best thing suleckis done is win a few rounds against Jacobs. He very nearly lost against rosado and I think this will be a boring fight, like andrade’s last couple

Jacobs Sulecki could go either way.

wins over Proksa, Centeno, Culcay, Rosado + a close fight with Jacobs make his record better than Andrade's imo or at least comparable

Sulecki Rosado was 79-71 after the 8 round but yes this fight showed that Sulecki has flaws but it showed that he also has a big potential.

WBO middleweight champion Demetrius Andrade and Maciej Sulecki have agreed to terms for a fight on June 28 on DAZN, according to Mike Coppinger. The unbeaten Andrade (27-0, 17 KOs) will be defending his WBO 160 lb title against mandatory Sulecki (28-1, 11 KOs) in Andrade’s hometown at the Dunkin’ Donuts Center in Providence, Rhode Island.

Mike Coppinger said this on his Twitter:

Demetrius Andrade and Maciej Sulecki have agreed to terms for a middleweight title fight June 28 on DAZN. The fight will be held at Dunkin’ Donuts Center in Providence, Rhode Island, Andrade’s hometown. Great to see fighters built locally.”

Would Andrade still be able to fight Canelo in September? Giving him over 2 months to prepare?

For a career-high payday I bet it will.

I think so, as long as he comes out of the Sulecki fight physically sound.

Ruiz is willing to fight Joshua with only about 5 weeks between fights.

Money always talks in boxing.

Demetrius Andrade-Maciej Sulecki official for June 29th in Providence

The will-they-won’t-they between WBO middleweight champ Demetrius Andrade and Maciej Sulecki is finally over. The L.A. Times’ Lance Pugmire reports that the two are officially set to go at it on June 29th at Providence, RI’s Dunkin’ Donuts Arena.

Shouldn’t it just be the Dunkin’ Arena now? Or is the change not retroactive? Shame, because “Dunkin’ Arena” sounds way better.

Andrade (27-0, 17 KO) enjoyed a super welterweight run plagued by inactivity, promotional issues, and inactivity caused by promotional issues before successfully moving to middleweight with a decision over Alantez Fox. This was supposed to lead to a WBO title shot against Billy Joe Saunders, but the latter’s failed drug test led to him vacating the belt and Andrade dominating Walter Kautondokwa to claim it.

He successfully defended the title in January, overpowering Artur Akavov to claim his first stoppage win since 2016.

Sulecki (28-1, 11 KO) was likewise a super welterweight for much of his career, notably defeating Hugo Centeno Jr. and Jack Culcay before moving to 160 for a crack at Daniel Jacobs. The 29-year-old Pole wound up losing a decision, bouncing back with a knockout in his home country, and surviving a nightmare ninth round to edge Gabriel Rosado in an eliminator this past March.

Sulecki wound up damaging his hand against Rosado, leaving Andrade to search for another opponent, but the injury proved less significant than they’d feared.

Solid matchup, though we can only hope the winner soon fights whoever leaves T-Mobile Arena with the other three belts this Saturday.

To think he did well against Jacobs too..

Rosado is just a rough and tough slugger type anyway.

Andrade won't put that sort of pressure on Sulecki.

Andrade announced the fight at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas as Jacobs and Canelo Alvarez meet in a unification blockbuster live on DAZN – and the 31 year old knows that dispatching Sulecki on his home turf is the last obstacle for an undisputed fight against tonight’s winner.

“After tonight, there will be one guy with three of the belts, and I’ve got the fourth,” said Andrade. “Both guys (Alvarez and Jacobs) have been very vocal about wanting to unify after this fight, so let's make it happen.
“We all feel that we are the best in the division, and there is only one way to find that out. I wish both Canelo and Danny well tonight, but they better know I'm there watching with a purpose.

“Sulecki is one of the top guys in the division, and his only loss is to Danny, in a fight where he gave Danny problems. You can't overlook this guy. He has earned this shot, and I am expecting him to bring it. That being said, I am the best 160-pounder in the sport, and I plan on showing every single aspect of that come June 29. This is my time.”

“Last Thursday I turned 30, so to fight for a World title is the best birthday gift for me,” said Sulecki. “I am in the most important moment of my career. I believe I can win and all the best is ahead of me. I think next five years can be the best in my boxing life so I must grasp it.”

“Demetrius is in the most golden position ever,” said promoter Eddie Hearn. “You are the final piece of the jigsaw puzzle for the undisputed title. So just keep winning. Sulecki will give him a chance to look good, in my opinion. He needs a fighter that comes to fight.

“Hopefully, we can fill up the Dunkin Donuts Center and make it a big deal, and he can start getting some credibility and profile and say, 'I'm not just a B-side. I'm the link to the undisputed title.'”

Tickets for the homecoming WBO World Middleweight title defense of Demetrius Andrade are on presale NOW as he puts his belt on the line against Maciej Sulecki at the Dunkin’ Donuts Center in Providence, Rhode Island on Saturday June 29, live on DAZN in the US and on Sky Sports in the UK. Andrade (27-0 17 KOs) makes the second defense of his crown in his first ever fight in his Providence backyard, with the two-weight World king landing the belt in Boston with an emphatic points win over Walter Kautondokwa in October and then stopping Artur Akavov in the final round of their January clash in New York. The former WBO Junior-Middleweight ruler holds a powerful position in the star-studded 160lbs division as one of two World champions after Canelo Alvarez defeated Daniel Jacobs to add his IBF crown to the WBA and WBC belts he owns – meaning ‘Boo Boo’ is hunting an undisputed fight with the Mexican superstar.

Sulecki (28-1 11 KOs) will want to gatecrash those plans and the all-action Pole promises to deliver a war on June 29. The 30 year old challenger comes into the bout on the back of a thrilling clash with Gabriel Rosado in March, pocketing the WBO International belt after flooring the hometown favorite in the second and eighth rounds but then hitting the deck twice himself in the ninth.

The pair will come face-to-face at a press conference at the Dunkin’ Donuts Center next Wednesday and fans can get their hands on tickets NOW – with tickets starting at just $28 (including fees).
