I beileve that Wilders comments are artificial and fake. I'm fairly confident that privately speaking Wilder (among most pro fighters) has a great deal of respect for his opponents.

He's saying it because he wants to seem notorious, a baaad man but instead comes across as a gullible, overgrown child who's been watching too much tv past the watershed.
Re: Can you root for Wilder after all these trash-talkings ?
It all went downhill after Mike Tyson said he wanted to eat Lennox Lewis' children.

I don't think it matters what Wilder is like away from boxing, that's his private face.
It's his public face that I care about. I don't like the thought that the things he says will fall on young impressionable ears.
That's not what I want portrayed to the youth about the sport I love.

But I think that he genuinely despises Breazeale after their little hotel ruckus a couple years ago.

No, I am not, of course, but this story about Tyson and Lewis is so surreal.Onetimeonly wrote: ↑17 May 2019, 21:37 So you're OK with someone talking about eating another man's kids as long as they don't have kids?

Wilder brings that old school 'drama' in the hw division. Fake, staged or not, it doesn't matter. I really want to see him fighting AJ this year bc The Father Time has no mercy. NO MORE marinating-'ABCD side'-fights for more and more money!
Re: Can you root for Wilder after all these trash-talkings ?
Or maybe the mystery of chess boxing
Timing is a bit late, but I can't let an opportunity to reference a kung-fu classic pass

Re: Can you root for Wilder after all these trash-talkings ?
I love to watch him fight but I can't stand to listen to him talk. I'm very conscious that he is 34 this year and in the final straight. He will leave a big hole when he retires so as much as I dislike his public persona, I know that when he's gone I'm going to wish he wasn't.
Hopefully by then we will have seen him fight Joshua.

@FBB ... You just did what I'm always doing: Responding to the 'previous' post without realizing there's another page of posts in between ![[icon_e_biggrin.gif] :D](./images/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif)

I'd rather have the proverbial beer with Breazeale. But I'm rooting for Wilder. Breazeale would only be a flash in the pan if he won.
