Ruiz's weight gain is surprising, no doubt.

On the other hand after looking at some of his previous fights I'd say this is easily the best shape he's ever been in.

At least his chest is now bigger than his belly. Always a good look!

The 29-year-old hopes the pounds will help him overcome his height and reach disadvantage.

“That was the game plan,” Ruiz told reporters. “We’re fighting someone big, someone taller than me. So I want to carry that weight well so my punches are going to hit harder.”

Had a dream that Ruiz scored a flash knockdown early in the fight during an exchange.

It's rare this happens, but it was so real. I've had dreams that came to be before, but I can't swear this one will happen.

Man I'm glad this card is held on the east coast.
I hate staying up half the night to watch those California cards. It's hard on an old man

I was just at the sports book here in Las Vegas. The over/under is 6.5 rounds. That's too low, Ruiz has no track record of being stopped ... much less early.
