Think AJ's 50/50 at the moment, came through the Wladimir scare, came a cropper v Ruiz. Need to see more of him but I think Wlad with his caution and limited punch output let Joshua off the hook.

Also, it's: CRISES :TU:

I would say 66/33 - Whyte also buzzed him quite badly.

It was almost as if he was doing it to respond to the jibes he was too much of a nice guy...... sometimes his dirty tactics were just silly..... the Lewis fight being the prime example. After he hurt Lewis (not as badly as people make out) instead of looking for opening. He tries this silly little holding and uppercutting (with no effect) and Lewis exposes Bruno's lack of defense quite brilliantly.

I think that Bruno with that level of focus would land first, but who knows? I think we probably all agree that if Joshua can't take a power shot from Ruiz he can't take one from Bruno.
But the tide was turning, remember how Green Lewis was at this stage also........ Bruno won the first 3 rounds, Lewis the last three rounds. Two of the judges had the fight level at the time of the stoppage...... Bruno was fatiguing and Lewis was figuring him out.

For me Bruno's physical prime was vs Tyson if not before..... he was just getting too big vs Lewis and even bigger again vs McCall.

Watching AJ vs Ruiz again - not sure Bruno would have had enough about him to survive the third round...... aside from Cummings (which was late in the round) I can only think of one time where Bruno was hurt but survived a round and that was the first round vs Tyson.

Yes I think if Joshua hurt Bruno he would certainly finish him. What Ruiz pulled off in the third round takes some serious composure, recuperative powers, and balls.

Sorry I was refering to AJ suriving the round....... people have been comparing AJ lack of survival insticts to Bruno on the basis of this fight - I would say this fight still showed they were better than Bruno's.

The Joshua of the Ruiz fight would have been hammered.
Good distinction, needed making.

Frank Bruno was slow and ponderous; Ruiz is a fast handed combination counterpuncher who seemingly can survive adversity, unlike Bruno who completely lacked the ability to improvise under pressure.

I think if they fought, it would pan out almost like Lewis/Bruno did.

Frank has a much better jab than Joshua, but he was even slower than Joshua who is exactly quick himself.

Bruno would take an early lead before getting walloped and falling apart and having to be saved; standard fare every time Bruno stepped up in class, barring one occasion.
