Think AJ's 50/50 at the moment, came through the Wladimir scare, came a cropper v Ruiz. Need to see more of him but I think Wlad with his caution and limited punch output let Joshua off the hook.
Also, it's: CRISES

I would say 66/33 - Whyte also buzzed him quite badly.overhand_right wrote: ↑03 Jun 2019, 12:09 Think AJ's 50/50 at the moment, came through the Wladimir scare, came a cropper v Ruiz. Need to see more of him but I think Wlad with his caution and limited punch output let Joshua off the hook.

It was almost as if he was doing it to respond to the jibes he was too much of a nice guy...... sometimes his dirty tactics were just silly..... the Lewis fight being the prime example. After he hurt Lewis (not as badly as people make out) instead of looking for opening. He tries this silly little holding and uppercutting (with no effect) and Lewis exposes Bruno's lack of defense quite brilliantly.jamesmcdonnell wrote: ↑03 Jun 2019, 11:21 Yeah he was a filthy dirty bastard bruno, never seen anybody get away with so many rabbit punches.
But the tide was turning, remember how Green Lewis was at this stage also........ Bruno won the first 3 rounds, Lewis the last three rounds. Two of the judges had the fight level at the time of the stoppage...... Bruno was fatiguing and Lewis was figuring him out.overhand_right wrote: ↑03 Jun 2019, 11:35 No, I think that would have been the beginning of the end for Frank. I can't help but be impressed by how well he defended himself from Lewis's big power shots though. He only got belted in the 7th when he lost his composure and ran at Lewis.
I think that Bruno with that level of focus would land first, but who knows? I think we probably all agree that if Joshua can't take a power shot from Ruiz he can't take one from Bruno.
Sorry I was refering to AJ suriving the round....... people have been comparing AJ lack of survival insticts to Bruno on the basis of this fight - I would say this fight still showed they were better than Bruno's.overhand_right wrote: ↑04 Jun 2019, 06:09 Yes I think if Joshua hurt Bruno he would certainly finish him. What Ruiz pulled off in the third round takes some serious composure, recuperative powers, and balls.
Good distinction, needed making.Boxerbeetle wrote: ↑02 Jun 2019, 16:01 The Joshua of the Klitschko fight would have beaten Bruno.
The Joshua of the Ruiz fight would have been hammered.
