Shame we’re probably never gonna see Ortiz fights other top boxers.
AJ, Whyte, Povetkin (would have been decent)..

Wilder is running scared and will keep avoiding anyone ( AJ ) who will offer real boxing skills and power .

the most interesting fights for ortiz wouldve been vs the #4-7ish type guys, rather then the top guys
whyte, pov, miller types wouldve been best
i think aj spanks him and wilder will this time with less problems
Re: Deontay Wilder vs. Luis Ortiz II - September 2019
Wilder (not any other fighter) is running scared of anyone. You could make a better case that Fury is ducking the top dogs now. Give it a rest already.stevec@france wrote: ↑30 May 2019, 14:50 Wilder is running scared and will keep avoiding anyone ( AJ ) who will offer real boxing skills and power .

Saying that he ( Ortiz and/or Breazeale) is more deserving of a mandatory title shot at Wilder than Bermane Stiverne is like claiming to be in better physical shape than Stephen Hawking.Ruthless-RKO wrote: ↑30 May 2019, 09:27 He’s done more than Stiverne. He became mandatory for nearly losing to a journeyman and failing a drugs test before his Povetkin fight. Haha
Where are all the people who claimed Ortiz was wronged in the first fight?
Hey Ilya, he is enquiring as to your whereabouts it would seem

Thoughts after your guy was dismantle by an uber driver mate?clopixolacuphase wrote: ↑29 May 2019, 08:36 What an incredible waste of life to log into a boxing forum and post in character as a cretinous ‘Wilder fan’ with zero boxing knowledge. At least be a bit more creative if you’re going to troll.

He’s no Uber driver or journeyman. He was a HW contender who some believed beat Parker in close fight.

RIght, because the great Andy Ruiz was in everybodys mind prior to this fight. Was the bogeyman of division.Ruthless-RKO wrote: ↑03 Jun 2019, 07:36 He’s no Uber driver or journeyman. He was a HW contender who some believed beat Parker in close fight.

Im so excited about this fight like I was with the Stiverne rematch.
Zero interest.
Both men are older now and Ortiz at 40 on the downhill, so the outcome should be quite predictable.
Is it really necessary?

Re: Deontay Wilder vs. Luis Ortiz II - September 2019
Wilder is vulnerable and is capable of being hurt by any world-rated fighter. We’ve seen him wobbled on numerous occasions, sometimes by unheralded opposition, which means that the Cuban veteran is definitely capable of avenging his sole loss. An upset is entirely feasible.
However, Deontay was overly-cautious during his first bout with Ortiz (perhaps intimidated by the Cuban’s fearsome reputation) and was reluctant to let his hands go. He’ll have far more confidence this time around, based on the fact he’s facing an opponent he’s already decked three times (once in the 5th and twice in the 10th) and was “technically” leading on all three judges’ scorecards at the time of the stoppage.
The Cuban veteran was already past-his-prime and pretty old for his first fight against Wilder, but he’ll be 18 months older for the rematch, after looking moderately unimpressive during his subsequent bouts against the likes of Cojanu, Kauffman & Hammer. It’s clear that Ortiz doesn’t deserve to own the moniker of being ‘King Kong’, as I consider him as being ready-for-the-taking… and it seems that his peers (Wilder, Whyte & Joshua) think so too.
Therefore, Deontay Wilder will almost certainly win this fight and will very likely stop Ortiz within six rounds. It’ll be a much easier victory for the American than their first bout. The Cuban veteran would have inevitably declined 18 months after their 2018 battle.
The fight could even play out in a similar manner to Wilder’s rematch with Stiverne, resulting in Ortiz being decimated in double-quick fashion!

Wilder was sick and missed a large part of training camp in the first encounter. He also struggles against southpaws. Wilder will make adjustments this time around. He is very dangerous once having adjusted to an opponents style. He is underrated as a tactician, but there is a definite slickness to how he sets up his power punches that changes from opponent to opponent.

I agree with it too. I make no bones about it it, I don't like the guy, I think he's a classless oaf. I think he has been carefully matched and has enjoyed the protection of the WBC, as well as Haymon and his minnions, but that's not to say I don't rate him as a fighter. He's definitely one of the best heavyweights around, he may even be the best, with Joshua looking so fragile in his recent defeat, and Fury putting the mighty dollar ahead of the rematch.
He may have poor technique and there are fighters he has seemed in no hurry to share a ring with, but you can't accuse him of lacking heart or endurance in the ring. He doesn't quit, he's fast and athletic, with good stamina and powers of recovery. His punching power is probably at least the equal of anyone I've ever seen. I don't have to like him but I do have to respect him.

I think Ortiz did well enough to justify a rematch.FruitStealer wrote: ↑06 Jun 2019, 02:00 Im so excited about this fight like I was with the Stiverne rematch.

Re: Deontay Wilder vs. Luis Ortiz II - September 2019
Wilder is the one who wanted this fight. He wants to clean up any past 'controversy' be it with Ortiz, or hopefully later with Fury. I think it's as simple as that.
Re: Deontay Wilder vs. Luis Ortiz II - September 2019
only the nutjobs think the first win was somehow not legit
Re: Deontay Wilder vs. Luis Ortiz II - September 2019
Would love to see old boy Ortiz break Wilder down and shut that huge ridiculous BS tube .
Maybe just wishful thinking .

If we started rematching every bout where the favourite was troubled this sport would be stuck in the mud
Re: Deontay Wilder vs. Luis Ortiz II - September 2019
Which knockdown are you alleging that the fight resumed after AJ was given 30 second to recuperate?
