It will be like the 80s again: Two flabby blokes with dubious drug histories and good technical ability duking out for a so-called version of the heavyweight title.

absolutely 100 % against this on so many levels
But of course there's no problem with Fury earning megapurses despite also having a drug bust on his record from eating uncastrated wild boar. A PED delicacy apparently.

Fury is a lovable lug and gets a pass. Let him make millions. All is forgiven and forgotten.

But in comparison, Miller--somehow a dirty drug cheat that Fury ain't--is considered pure evil and must be burned at the stake before being allowed to earn a living.

Me? I couldn't care less if Fury or Miller are allowed to fight. Let them go at it for all the money they can grab.

But closing your eyes to Fury's transgression and yet condemning Big Baby is hypocrisy to the extreme.

firstly let me say I dont like Fury or his " crowd " and as a fighter for me the jury is out until he has a proper fight again with wilder or in the future with DW AJ etc not stupid rubbish like last weekend .
I believe he admitted taking cocaine for recreation ?
not the same as PED to me ?

Fury isn't going to endanger a huge Wilder rematch by facing off with the rugged Miller.

The opponent will be closer to Schwarz's level. Not Miller's.
Fury will make Miller look more stupid than he actually is...

I'd rather Miller got a proper ban but I've no faith in the system that that will happen

People told us though that Miller was a worthy opponent for Joshua as a unified title defence so it would be a bit hypocritical to say that he's not suitable for Fury as a warm up fight to challenge Wilder in a rematch for the wbc title

Fury gets a boost on this forum because he's white. Go back and look at Ali, Frazier, Quarry, Foreman, Chuvalo, etc if you want to see real fighters. Fury's just a big goof and Wilder's not much better. The heavyweights are worse now than in almost any time in boxing history and the talking heads on TV know it. Dominic Breazeale and Tom Schwarz are punching bags being used to build up the Wilder-Fury rematch which will be another snore-fest.

Totally disagree.

I've been here for years and a fighter's colour is rarely if ever referred to when discussing his capabilities.

Maybe 40 years ago. Heavyweights have sucked for decades and the majority of the decent ones have been white anyway.

Hey good point I never noticed, but now that you mention it I can think of one time I got a little suspicious of something in boxing, but I thought, ah it's probably my imagination. They wouldn't try to cheat at sports or anything in Las Vegas, would they? I mean if u can't trust the Mafia who can u trust?

So then why is Pulev getting bumped for the big money fight in favor of this guy who was so recently disgraced?

Dennis Rodman said the EXACT same words concerning Larry Bird. Those are the words of a salty motherfucker who can't stand the fact Fury is the best guy in town instead of someone else.

I honestly feel that Miller is a threat to anyone in the division. And I thought he had a real chance against Joshua. I'm not convinced Fury would win this. Miller, with the right testing, could beat any of the top guys on a given night.

Guessing you missed out a "not" ?

I was pretty impressed with him too but it remains to be seen whether his main attributes of great stamina, high punch volume, and resilience will be affected by his ass having a needle-free future.

Pulev getting bumped? I'm not sure what you mean. He's mandatory for the IBF which means he will be getting a shot at (hopefully still) three real belts rather than one imaginery one. I would think he would not see any point risking that by fighting Fury.

Fury would probably fancy a Pulev fight. A respectable opponent with a high ranking who poses very little threat or risk to him, he would be smacking his lips.

I guess you're referring to the Klitschko era then. I read "decades" as being more than just the last two.

I was very excited by him at the time. I'm struggling with most of the better ones being white though ...

Quarry, Chuvalo, Bonavena, Bugner, Cobb, Coetzee, Cooney, Morrison, Klitschkos being the main stand-outs that spring readily to mind.

I'm sure I've made a few glaring and embarrassing omissions there, but I could list a hell of a lot more talented black fighters from say 70 onwards.

My thoughts on this matchup are basically the same as my thoughts on AJ vs Miller before it cancelled. Reasonably decent challenger for Fury to be going up against. If a suspension is only gonna put you off of a big payday for 3 or 4 months I don't see why every boxer isn't just juicing like a mahfucka if they want to. Apparently nothing serious is gonna happen to you even if you do get busted so go for it.

You really make boxing so interesting. I mean hell who should bother typing out a sentence about how abysmal the top division is if it's that bad let alone bother to pay for ppv or search for a stream.

They were talking about Fury vs Pulev and now it has turned into Fury-Miller. When will Pulev get a shot at any belt?

Furthermore, your honor, I submit that Mister C. Slim the professional boxing expert for the defendant, Mr Andrew Ruiz, has deliberately evaded the question about why he thinks Mr. Ruiz, the defendant, clearly , as he put it, defeated the plaintiff, my client, Mr Liakhovich, who, ladies and gentlemen and other miscellaneous genders of the jury, I submit in actuality defeated Mr Ruiz and thus in reality is the true lineal heavyweight champion of the world!

Even if Liakhovich won, how is he a lineal champion since it would have happened before Ruiz won a belt?

You might as well say that Marty Marshall was the lineal champion.

Not to mention that Ruiz isn't even the lineal champion now. That mythic title is currently vacant.
