Kovalev is a rough, tough man. I wish Yarde the best, but they’ll need lions in the camp.

Anyone who was really humble wouldn’t want to fight in a place that does this to kids IMO.
This kid was supposed to have shot at the military and made cocktails. If we crucified the chavs who have made Britain a turd pit maybe they would think twice?

How would they think twice if they’d been crucified?

The problem with being liberal is that man is an animal and many of them will take advantage of your good nature. It's amazing how safe a society can be when your wayward elements understand that if they fornicate around they will be shoved into the woodchipper. Do you think that British lad in Singapore will be pushing drugs again, once his buttocks have been lashed clean off his bones and are hanging from his body like shredded paper?

Russia’s as bad in its own way. Nobody bitches about Yarde fighting there.
I agree I don’t know why any Brit would risk going there right now
Does Yarde have much of a choice? Frank W ain't stumping up cash, Yarde isn't a draw... A case of like it or lump it for AY

I would be pretty cheesed of this bout isn't in the UK/USA/Africa - taking this bout to a territory that doesn't have a boxing following is ridiculous (and yes I had the same feeling when Callum Smith fought in Saudi last year)

overhand_right wrote: 06 Aug 2019, 12:49 Saudi Arabia is unpleasant in many ways, but many of our other close 'allies' are similarly odious. The Saudis and the CIA co-funded the mujahideen, later Al Qaeda, so let's refuse to fight in America. The UK trained Islamic State fighters in Libya, so let's refuse to fight here as well! And the western media trumpeted war in Iraq with fake WMD propaganda, so let's refuse to even fight on TV!

Ultimately these are professional athletes with a very short shelf life. If I was offered gazillions to fight in Saudi Arabia, I wouldn't turn it down on some daft principle.
I was pondering this very issue...

You would take the cash - fair enough - and that’s honest if nothing else. I hope I wouldn’t, but I KNOW I would if I was skint. AJ has more money than any man could need already, so maybe he could cfgord to make a stand and use his power for good.., but of course it’s not AJ’s job to police morality. Our UK/US regimes have done plenty worse after all, but it’s not “a daft principle” either.

I don’t know.., It’s a tough one.

Title fight for 4 belts in front of about 500 people - atmosphere will be dire.

Smith/Groves was a waste there as well.

WWE stars refuse to travel to Saudi Arabia for their shows there and they are a company.

Good luck trying to get fighters who are alot more independent there.

I'm guessing that the boxers themselves don't give a shit. The Saudis will pay them loads, and that's what they care about.
Unless you get shafted like Khan seemingly has

I'm sure the PPVs will be bought up too..

I say AJ won't care but his long list of excuses since losing, include having the buzz of 90,000 fans at Cardiff for inspiration.
