Tunde is not a very likeable guy is he. When he is interviewed he laughs like a Muppet.

Mate come on, dream it believe it become it....What's not to love
Part of me would love to see yarde demolished just for Tundes reaction.... but the other part of me thinks yarde seems quite a decent lad so overall would like to see him do it

Has there even been a proper press conference for this yet?

Yarde saying Canelo team offered him same “life changing” money he’s getting for the fight to step aside, and he turned them down.
He’s definitely got the right attitude, but that’s just added pressure

I have changed my opinion, Mr Kovalev isn't mentally switched on!
Yarde mid to late stoppage - just hope team Yarde are smart with what they eat and drink

If that's true it means that Captain Advantage was down to fight at 175, which is an obvious boost for Yarde's confidence that he's timing this well. I've never rated Kov as highly as most, but Yarde's a mystery at that level.MightyWarrior wrote: ↑09 Aug 2019, 08:42Yarde saying Canelo team offered him same “life changing” money he’s getting for the fight to step aside, and he turned them down.
On the odds of a one-way beating I'd bet more confidently on Yarde (surprisingly, given his propensity to get outboxed), but I've not seen enough to discount him getting chinned with one shot. I don't know if Ward beat the best out of Kov or he was already declining, but he's coming to the end of his career now, and if Yarde can't beat him then he needs to drop back and fight Buatsi or someone.

Re: Sergey Kovalev vs. Anthony Yarde - 24 August 2019
Kov won pretty much every round last time I thought vs a solid Eledier Alvarez, still no shame in all just if Yarde can't beat Kov. Obviously manner of the outcome matters too.
In fact, I think despite them going 1-1 that Kovalev arguably won almost every round him and Alvarez completed. There is still clearly some form there, but can he stay focused enough and sharp enough to avoid getting caught and hurt? He isn't the most durable. It's an interesting fight. He may well be able to hurt Yarde pretty easily himself too. His power is obviously proven at a much better level.
Watching Yarde fights again, one thing I'll say to his credit, is that for being a muscle bound guy with little amateur background, he is very relaxed in there with his movements and punches, and really mixes them up nicely both in punch type and between short/medium/long shots. You can mention the level of opposition, but even vs totally overmatched opponents you often see guys of Yarde's profile all stiff and robotic.

Yards being a gooner aside, I hope he chins Kov.
Got a strange feeling he just might too. Kov looking well past him

Kovalev’s heavy straight right hands will take their toll with Yarde stopped within 6 rounds.

Will they get big lardy Tel in to carry Yarde to his corner at the bell like he did with The rat from the valleys?
Re: Sergey Kovalev vs. Anthony Yarde - 24 August 2019
It’s unlikely to happen but I went with Yarde by stoppage. Even if he has previously fought levels below Kovalev his attitude coming in is refreshing and positive. He sounds like someone who believes he belongs at this level plus, maybe Kovalev’s age and turbulent life outside the ring may just be catching up with him...
Re: Sergey Kovalev vs. Anthony Yarde - 24 August 2019
Kovalev back on the sauce and feeling up birds on airplanes only a few weeks ago so.....
Re: Sergey Kovalev vs. Anthony Yarde - 24 August 2019
cant remember what i wrote earlier, but yarde aint in the same class as Kovalev in my eyes but time has caught up, though i wrote yarde would win a world title after his 6th odd in copper box. i just dont think yarde has improved enough ,i find him quite stiff upper body gets hit not sure he is as tall as he builds. stocky , but he has power and good hands , how much has kk got left , he wouldnt of fought yarde if he thought he couldnt win , it is such a jump up for yarde in quailty. i think if yarde can land a big shot early he can win make kk not want it, i just think Kovalev fancys himself again late ko kk rd8

The fact that Yarde is going to Chelyabinsk to get at Kovalev makes me a fan. Belly of the beast.

Yarde and Tunde going to get a wakeup call when the first right hand lands. This is world level. Yarde to get stopped inside 3 for me.
Re: Sergey Kovalev vs. Anthony Yarde - 24 August 2019
That’s where for all I doubt Yarde will win and Tunde comes across like a bit of a bell end - you have to say fair play for taking the fight and heading to deepest darkest Russia to Kovalev’s home town.
Even for large pot of cash I do think Yarde fancies the job - where as a lot wouldn’t have went to Russia.
Re: Sergey Kovalev vs. Anthony Yarde - 24 August 2019
Then again we don’t know Yarde’s level as yet (doubtful) it’s World but hard to say and until Kovalev’s last fight he was showing signs of declining.TheLeprechaun wrote: ↑12 Aug 2019, 11:30 Yarde and Tunde going to get a wakeup call when the first right hand lands. Yarde will know he’s got to beat fight out of Kovalev as he ain’t winning on points.

Yarde isn't going to get away with his usual style. This is a seriously dangerous fight where every second is very important. Kovalev can starch him with either hand at any time. He's had things too easy
Re: Sergey Kovalev vs. Anthony Yarde - 24 August 2019
Indeed. Nothing easy about this task, including just getting to Chelyabinsk. GO YARDE!!!3132DW wrote: ↑12 Aug 2019, 12:32That’s where for all I doubt Yarde will win and Tunde comes across like a bit of a bell end - you have to say fair play for taking the fight and heading to deepest darkest Russia to Kovalev’s home town.

I fancy a punt on Kovalev. Yarde is leaping several levels above anything he has fought at before.

Re: Sergey Kovalev vs. Anthony Yarde - 24 August 2019
Ya, it's interesting. Yarde's really had nothing much come back at him. It's possible that he's not the most durable and gets hurt easily. Kov is one of those guys who has hurt and dropped opponents even with jabs.TheLeprechaun wrote: ↑12 Aug 2019, 13:46 Yarde isn't going to get away with his usual style.
