Vasyl Lomachenko vs. Luke Campbell - 31 August 2019
Re: Saudi Arabia to Host Andy Ruiz vs. Anthony Joshua 2?
Don,t really know why people are suprised or upset its just purely economics and makes sence,, Its the biggest fight in the world for quite a while , Sure they will sell out Wembley , Cardiff or any other stadium in Britain ,, but they sell out a stadium and have huge costs , they make plenty , but they will still get them same people buying Ppv , so let the Saudis throw in the cash , theve got it and are willing to splash it around so take it ,
It also saves a legal battle because Ruiz or rather his managment don,t seem to give a fizz about what they signed there refusung the rematch in Britain and gambling AJ , Hearn , and Diaz , won,t call there bluff and demand the rematch clause is stuck too , going to court tying it all up for yonks and missing the payday,
I know one thing if i was Aj , it would be a simple ultimatium to Ruiz, You have a few choices buddy ,
Fight in England .
Fight in Saudi , for the original rematch cluase money , and any extra it makes goes to me ,
Stick to asking for Mexico , or the states , and get refused tied up in court , lose your belts for refusing to defend , and piss off , cos Aj still has a mega fight with Fury and or Wilder ,
Somehow i don,t think Ruiz has the appeal , I think most people think Fury will out box him and Wilder will ko him

He certainly does , for his belts and his legacy, but he could manage without it , Ruiz needs it moreoogiebe wrote: ↑11 Aug 2019, 18:59AJ needs this fight.coneye wrote: ↑11 Aug 2019, 18:56 Don,t really know why people are suprised or upset its just purely economics and makes sence,, Its the biggest fight in the world for quite a while , Sure they will sell out Wembley , Cardiff or any other stadium in Britain ,, but they sell out a stadium and have huge costs , they make plenty , but they will still get them same people buying Ppv , so let the Saudis throw in the cash , theve got it and are willing to splash it around so take it ,

Re: Saudi Arabia to Host Andy Ruiz vs. Anthony Joshua 2?
I don't see it that way. Ruiz came from less. AJ's been hyped up and also very successful. His ego and legacy need it much more. All the pressure is on him.

Depends how you look at it, financially Ruiz clearly needs it more, but it's AJ who needs redemption in the ring.
Re: Saudi Arabia to Host Andy Ruiz vs. Anthony Joshua 2?
That's my point. Both guys can make oodles of money (Ruiz much less without AJ, but still millions). AJ clearly cares what's thought of him.margaret thatcher wrote: ↑11 Aug 2019, 19:17 Depends how you look at it, financially Ruiz clearly needs it more, but it's AJ who needs redemption in the ring.

I am not welcome in Wahhabiland; kind of like Iowa.
Re: Saudi Arabia to Host Andy Ruiz vs. Anthony Joshua 2?
Correct , Ruiz was not a big money fighter , he was given a chance and snatched it good on him .. He is going to get a massive pay day for him at his pay rates anyway for the rematch , He wins he's the man and calls the shots , but AJ his massive paydays are on the line , without him its not gonna be the same money , Ruiz needs it more if he wants the money .oogiebe wrote: ↑11 Aug 2019, 19:19That's my point. Maybee i'm naive , but too me an agreement is an agreement , a deal is a deal , and when Ruiz was given a shoT he jumped in grateful , and was happy to sign a rematch clause , to be fought where AJ decided , for a gauranteed purse , now he's changed his mind , i would tell him to fook off go fight Fury . .
Like i said maybee i',m naive , and expect too much , remember a deal i done a few years ago , i got a lot of work came in , mainly painting outside of houses , my fella's could'nt handle the work, too much work ,, I advertized for workers and this guy came along , , says listen , i'm looking for work for me and my guys i got 6-7 blokes , but i'm running out of work tells me there all available the following week , when he runs out , , I think great just what i need , a big gang , epesceilly one i don't have to employ he employs them , .
So we talk money , Now at the time my charge up rate was $55 ph , I paid my subbies $40 ph , so i ask him what you pay your guys he says $25 ph ,, I think stuff me thats not much but not my concern , I agree i'm gonna pay him $45 ph , but he's responsible for them and there work , Few months go by its all working well , his guys to me were all good workers , but underpaid , .... But the work came in i organized it done the repairs , and just gave him the painting work , he made heaps , going from a guy with limited work who i knew charged $35 ph and underpaid his workers to , a guy with unlimited work , not having to look for it and $45ph .
Anyway , few months go by , and he comes to me and says were doing most your painting work , i say your doing all of it , he says i want more money i want $55 ph , i sask , your fellas gonna get a raise , he says not your concern ,, so i say its too much can't afford it i can't and won't pay it ,, End result he says were not working for you anymore , i say fine , he then tells me , he spoke to the building supervisor , who tells him he can do the work direct to the company , in other words he's back dooring me and got greedy ..
I ring the CEO of said company , say we got a problem , , we meet ,, i tell him whats gone on , and remind him , that i have a written legaly binding contract ,too do all his work , and while i'm fighting in court , over the painting and who's gonna do it, who's gonna do his bricklaying , plumbing , tiling ect ect ,, he does'nt know anything about this situation , calls in said supervisor and gives him a serve . Both him,,, ( CEO ) and I knew it was brought about by the supervisor, after a back hander from the new guy, if he got him all the painting work , said supervisor was a dimwit , he had'nt known OR BOTHERED TO CHECK that I , has the major contractor had contracts in place .
I call a meeting with this fella and his workers , and tell them , due to him being an ungrateful greedy bastard not to mention a snake , the situation is this , they can come and work for me with a gauranteed 18 months -2 years work and an increase in pay to $35 ph , or they can fook off down the road with the now unemployed snake , , they stayed , the greedy bastard , went back to charging $35 ph and struggling for work , on his own
Point of this long winded tale , , well nothing really except i'm home alone a bit bored , and once i start typing its like my talking i can't stop

Contract law is much stronger in The West, to be polite. But, even in The West you have those who sign contracts with the foreknowledge that they fully intend to renegotiate them. Lawyers are famous for that, as well as scumbags like The Hater In Chief.coneye wrote: ↑12 Aug 2019, 02:36Correct , Ruiz was not a big money fighter , he was given a chance and snatched it good on him .. I have never, ever walked out of a boxing event! I've always staggered out with an empty wallet and a skin full. It's tradition!
And what would my Mrs have to tut at?

I could never trust a man wearing curtains. He could be applying the old forefinger and thumb stroke whilst sat next to you and you'd be non the wiser.
If they offer free beers and a ticket to one of the best nightclubs and I might consider it

Seeing as Saudi is one of the hardest places in the world to get a visa for but Eddie says buy a ticket and it includes a visa we'll see who is right when Ticketmaster/Stub Hub start selling. If this is true I'd go if it wasn't too expensive as it's bound to be quite an experience
Re: Saudi Arabia to Host Andy Ruiz vs. Anthony Joshua 2?
Haymon was never going to make this easy for Hearn. Even though everyone knew the terms of the contract when they signed them I'm sure Al has seen this as an opportunity to frustrate and annoy Hearn. And to some extent it has worked, the fight isn't going to be in the UK. However, above all this just reeks of a cash grab by AJ. Hearn's spin was laughable yesterday.

I heard that VISA is not an issue. A few guys I know bought Khan-Dib tix and said VISA was sorted within 2-3 days.tony1234 wrote: ↑13 Aug 2019, 10:17Seeing as Saudi is one of the hardest places in the world to get a visa for but Eddie says buy a ticket and it includes a visa we'll see who is right when Ticketmaster/Stub Hub start selling. However the Saudi Gov make it difficult for pilgrimages who usually wait months to get a VISA and even have to go to London Embassy.

Your fine, Beardie me old mate.
A lot of us do it. Either mockingly, or endearingly.
Sometimes we stop, like I don't use Aduckis anymore, since he is a couple of sandwiches short of a picnic. And sometimes we adopt other's nicknames- like Miller calling Joyce "Brown Lurch" because we love that. And sometimes we make up new ones, like my Aggiejabbie
Re: Saudi Arabia to Host Andy Ruiz vs. Anthony Joshua 2?
Ive got a feeling Ruiz isnt up for this rematch. Either that or all this talk about not signing the rematch is just all bullshit. Maybe Ruiz hasnt got the heart of a champion and will fall like Buster Douglas.

What I really despise is the glossing over of what Saudi Arabia is and what it represents. It is a totalitarian monarchy that controls the most important Muslim sites on Earth. They represent Neo-Feudalism.
Events like this normalize and legitimize their despicable system.
