Eddie chucked 5 mil out there to face Farmer on DAZN. Floyd said no.
That's a big chunk for a non HW.
I didn't hear about that, where did you get it from ?

Davis-Gamboa Deal In Works For December Or Early 2020
By Keith Idec

A deal for Gervonta Davis’ first fight since his move to lightweight likely will be completed soon.

Multiple sources have informed BS.com that negotiations are ongoing for Davis to fight Yuriorkis Gamboa either December 7 or sometime early in 2020. Gamboa beat Roman “Rocky” Martinez by second-round knockout on the Davis-Ricardo Nunez undercard July 27 at a sold-out Royal Farms Arena in Baltimore and has campaigned for a fight versus Davis.

Showtime, which has televised Davis’ past six fights either live on the network or on pay-per-view, is expected to air the Davis-Gamboa bout.

Floyd Mayweather, Davis’ promoter, and Mayweather Promotions CEO Leonard Ellerbe explored putting together a 130-pound title unification bout between Davis and rival Tevin Farmer following Davis’ second-round knockout of Nunez.

Eddie Hearn, who has co-promoted Farmer’s past four fights, offered Davis $5 million to fight Farmer, but only if the Davis-Farmer fight were streamed by DAZN, with which Hearn’s Matchroom Boxing is affiliated. Mayweather wanted a Davis-Farmer fight to mark Davis’ debut as a Showtime Pay-Per-View headliner.

Mayweather will never let his pet get beaten up because he's genuinely kind and would never be cruel to animals.

I am totally upset. So, Davis is moving up at 135, certainly. Lomachenko will face Commey/Lopez winner in the first quarter of 2020 (likely, he will win), but.......I read that he (Loma) intends to come back at 130 (after the unification at 135).

I can not believe. Will Loma wait for Inoue till 2022 ? There is only one decent opponent at 130 - Berchelt, but he has no more than 5% chances against Loma.

So, this is one of the reasons I prefer HW...................

Tank's most recent bout against Nunez actually peaked at 594K (averaging 553K) on Showtime and it was only the second time the 24-year-old has headlined an event.

Clips of Davis’ TKO over Nunez drew five million views on various social media platforms.

Also, Showtime’s “The Rise” digital series, which profiles rising stars, produced more than 3.5m views when profiling the Davis-Nunez bout.

The Davis-Nunez also attracted a capacity crowd of 14,686. :TU:

Apart from Canelo, I can’t think of any other 24-year-old that has generated comparable commercial figures in recent years, can you? :-?

Don't see what the age thing matters as to his current standing. His numbers really aren't that great overall and don't show him being a PPV level draw currently at all. And he's young but he's now been fighting at championship level for several fights.

In future years? Hell, maybe, but right now you have a guy whose been an undercard fighter most of his career and even as champ in his biggest drawing fights has done around 400-550k averages for those actually tuning in to watch him fight. He's never gotten spotlight vs a star opponent either.

OMG what a PPV level draw already! Nah, the potential is there, but him vs soon to be 38 year old Gamboa as PPV headliner already is
