Boils down to genetics. I can remember when I was a teenager I used to do weight training, boxed a bit too but no matter how much I tried I could never get a decent six pack. My mate on the other hand lived on takeaways and never done any exercise but had abs that looked like they were chiselled out of granite lol. Fury for all his talk doesn't live the life as strict as you might think, he loves a beer or ten.bripez wrote: ↑16 Sep 2019, 08:09Yeah but his physique has always been the sameControversial wrote: ↑16 Sep 2019, 08:02
A lot will be loose skin now, anyone going upto 30 stone and then losing a load of weight will have that, not a lot you can do about it
Just like Hughie, Boomer and Frankie Gavin - they all look like they have been made out of play dough
I just don’t get how it is possible - especially as they must have natural sporting talent and you would expect this to translate into their body composition

I don't get how a professional athlete who trains every day, with his height/weight ratio can look so flabby and shite
(yes, I know it is not bodybuilding etc. before anybody says) - but surely his body composition should be better?

No maybe not but he's never going to be like AJ, he just doesn't train for that look and genetically he isn't gifted like that either. As I said earlier he likes his beer, he trains hard I'm sure but he parties hard too. That lifestyle will catch up with him though, Hatton could whip himself into incredible shape but ultimately his lifestyle got the better of him.jamesmcdonnell wrote: ↑16 Sep 2019, 09:08Controversial wrote: ↑16 Sep 2019, 08:02

It's not genetics. It's because either someone doesn't do consistent resistant training with progressive overload OR their diet isn't what it should be, or both.Controversial wrote: ↑16 Sep 2019, 08:18Boils down to genetics. Obviously some people have better muscle building genetics than others, but not to the point whereby they can't get in good nick at all.

He is in good shape though, to go 12 rounds at the way he fights you need to be really fit, he just doesn’t look it. AJ was blowing out his arse after a few rounds. Fury doesn’t train to look good.Nondescript wrote: ↑16 Sep 2019, 09:19It's not genetics. Afrocarribean people on average tend to have much lower body fat than people of European descent. That makes them look far more muscular.Nondescript wrote: ↑16 Sep 2019, 09:19It's not genetics. Nonsense. AJ, Bruno, early Wlad Klitschko blow out of their arse after 5 punches. Fury can box comfortably for 12 rounds. Fury is in better shap than AJ, the way his body looks has zero baring to thatNondescript wrote: ↑16 Sep 2019, 09:19It's not genetics. Muscle needs oxygen, the more muscular you are the more oxygen your body needs.

That is true. They also have marginally higher testosterone levels aswell on average. I wasn't really talking about Joshua specifically though or even other black fighers but just other white fighters who are in better shape.jamesmcdonnell wrote: ↑16 Sep 2019, 10:37Afrocarribean people on average tend to have much lower body fat than people of European descent. Then you're making no sense?? What you complaining about? Fury's fitness or how he look because the two things are separate. Body shape is misleading. Foreman when he came back didn't look in shape but done 12 hard rounds with Holyfield who was as fit as any HW in history. Or more recently Ruiz vs AJ lol.

Yes, that's why Hoby builders and powerlifters have shit cardio, and long distance runners are very skinny.Controversial wrote: ↑16 Sep 2019, 10:59 Muscle needs oxygen, the more muscular you are the more oxygen your body needs.

What people don't understand is that as a parent when you see your son go through that war (not particularly because it was a back n forth war but the cut) you speak emotionally - stick with Ben

Brent Davison becomes more like Ricky gervais from the office in every interview I see him, always ‘has a feeling’ about how the fight would go, the lad should start doing the lottery. Latest i have seen is Tyson would be dead if not for him!
Not just him though, Tyson now surrounded by people (brothers apart) that he didn’t even know 3 years ago, and none have any real boxing pedigree. He has talent heart and size but the daft stuff like the Mexican behaviour from a Brit fighting a swede in the USA makes him look daft.
Get proper boxing people in and he wins every belt out there

The best shape I’ve ever seen Fury in was for Wlad. He looked strong that night, not just big.
That was back in the uncastrated beef days though

He did seem fortunate to beat McDermott. I don’t remember him deserving to lose by 5 rounds. What concerned me most was how he was all but turning his back on the guy.Exoddus wrote: ↑15 Sep 2019, 07:35 That wasn't the worst performance by Fury. However Fury did look rather poor last night. If the cut would have been the other way around. There's no chance of Wallin being allowed to see the final bell.
Re: John Fury Not Happy!
As eluded too by others it’s not the weight but the body composition... and how you made the weight !
Mike Tyson was is normal weight versus Buster Douglas but apparently spent the last few weeks of training trying to get weight off rather than train for a fight !
Fury may have done the same !
To be honest I am also interested to see how Otto will fair next time he goes in with someone decent

C'mon its not rocket science ask my missis she used to watch me fight , she watched her sons fight , she watched my brother fight , she watched and supported most of the kids i trained fight , and she will tell you excatly how anyone needs to fight a 6'8" giant , , And she will tell you that said giants training should involve , holding , wrestling , and in close work , BECAUSE sometimes he's gonna need it ,,,
Yet this fella seems to have , all the instagram and u tube followers convinced he's reinvented the wheel .
I blame Tyson he's not stupid , he seems to have one thing and one thing only on his mind MONEY , he is;nt chasing the belts he thinks he's still champion , calls himself Lineal champion , what the fook is that he was champ now he's not , simple , seems to me his father wants him to get the belts back , his trainer wants to carry on living the good life in the states .
I agree with John , piss them off and get back to being world champ ,
Re: John Fury Not Happy!
The scoring by Terry O'Connor was so bad. That it prompted a rule change.... Hardly "who's style you like" is it?Steveh583 wrote: ↑15 Sep 2019, 08:03In no fight did McDermott win five rounds. If you gave him the nod, fair enough, plenty did. But that 'robbery' (the most overused phrase in the sport) was nowhere near as wide as history makes out. I had fury winning the first two and the last two of a ten round fight, with a few middle rounds where it was who's style you liked. McDermotts shots certainly looked the most spectacular no doubt, but five rounds I can't agree on.Exoddus wrote: ↑15 Sep 2019, 07:35 That wasn't the worst performance by Fury. Re: John Fury Not Happy!
A lot is down to genetics, and to say it’s not or isn’t part is untrue. A coupe of examples are :
Asian people are genetically fleshy around their middles and store fat there
black people are either very naturally skinny or quite heavily muscular depending on where there heritage is from, for example Nigerians are very heavily built around their chest and shoulders and thicker set naturally whilst Ghanaians, Ethiopians, Sudanese, Somalians are more naturally skinner in size, whilst Jamaicans/Caribbean/West Indians usually seem to be more ripped naturally and look heavily muscle/dense tone and definition, you can train hard and be in amazing condition and be able to fight 15 rounds but not look aesthetically great, like more recently Ruiz, Fury, even domestically big John McDermott or look in great shape to the uneducated that seem to post so much on here and be ripped to shreds like and again I say recently Joshua, W.Klitschko, even Conner McGregor in UFC but are blowing out their ar se after a coupe of rounds, there is a huge difference, you can do so much with diet, training, S&C but like being a big puncher you can add a small % with correct technique and exercises but your either heavy handed or your not, 100% it’s alot down to genetics and they have a massive part to play in how far aesthetically a person body type and body fat/mass index can go
