If Gvozdyk/Beterbiev winner will call out Canelo, assuming he beats Kovalev?
Will Canelo accept it? I mean what it would be Canelo's excuse/answer to not fight the best LHW to cement his legacy? The boxing fans and the media may demand it.
Re: If Gvozdyk/Beterbiev winner will call out Canelo, assuming he beats Kovalev?
canelo will say yes. oscar will be irritated and not sure what to say.
gvozdyk and bertebiev are serious ko punchers in their prime. dangerous for any lh, especially for a middleweight.

If Canelo agrees to this possible fight at 175 lbs then he would make an ATG statement.

Beterbiev is not a walk in the park. Artur Beterbiev had several hundred fights in amateurs and lost only in a few of them. He has never been in knockdown. Many of his fights he won by KO and early stoppages. He has been nominated as P4P #1 in 2010 by AIBA. During his amateur career he won against many notable fighters, including: Yunier Dorticos, Michael Hunter, Oleksandr Gvozdyk(TKO), Thabiso Mchunu(TKO), Sergei Kovalev, Imre Szello, Egor Mekhontsev, Evgeny Makarenko, Abbos Atoev, Mario Heredia(TKO), Siju Shabazz(KO), Ismail Sillakh (KO).Onetimeonly wrote: ↑22 Sep 2019, 09:55 Gvodzyk is going to clown beterbiev and no canelo is not fighting him.
Artur can fight and end a fight quickly but I agree that Gvozdyk is technically the better boxer. The pressure is on Canelo, now he jumped up at 175 lbs.
Re: If Gvozdyk/Beterbiev winner will call out Canelo, assuming he beats Kovalev?
canelo is like oscar de la hoya. somebody can say whatever he wants about those 2, they lost fights, they got gift descisions etc.. but what nobody can take away from them is, they truly had a heart of a warrior.apollo creed wrote: ↑22 Sep 2019, 12:05If Canelo agrees to this possible fight at 175 lbs then he would make an ATG statement.![]()

oscar wasnt supposed to fight 6'2 prime Hopkins. Canelo aint supposed to go lh and challenge a ko artist in kovalev.
thats why i give mayor props to both and wouldnt be shocked if canelo fought gvozdyk. imagine floyd fighting prime GGG or prime Lara. he never had this in him. he was happy he got the gift descision against Castillo and said to himself 'I'll never fight a guy much stronger than me who puts pressure on me. prime Margarito, prime Williams-no fight

It all depending on how rigorous is the anti-doping test and if there is an Olympic drug testing protocol.greg wrote: ↑22 Sep 2019, 12:14provided they don't catch him cheating yeat againapollo creed wrote: ↑22 Sep 2019, 12:05

Yup. A strong mofo that can fight. He had bad luck with his pro career. He was poorly managed. After Cloud and Campillo fights, Artur should've got more good fights.RonnyJ wrote: ↑22 Sep 2019, 12:28apollo creed wrote: ↑22 Sep 2019, 12:25

He has been dropped twice in the pros and was also rocked but not down vs Hot Rod. I've also seen turned to jelly legs in the amateurs.apollo creed wrote: ↑22 Sep 2019, 12:25Beterbiev is not a walk in the park. He can punch for sure, but anything about him being some made of iron durability monster is just fantasy.

He's a plodder that can punch, with a dodgy chin.apollo creed wrote: ↑22 Sep 2019, 12:25Beterbiev is not a walk in the park. Yep, and he sticks his chin right out there when he throws. He has a puncher's chance here and vs pretty much anyone, but Gvo has power too plus better skills.Nondescript wrote: ↑22 Sep 2019, 13:52He's a plodder that can punch, with a dodgy chin.apollo creed wrote: ↑22 Sep 2019, 12:25

Beterbiev is very strong physically and he punches very hard. Nothing else about him is remotely world class. He's getting his ass kicked.apollo creed wrote: ↑22 Sep 2019, 12:25Beterbiev is not a walk in the park. Artur Beterbiev had several hundred fights in amateurs and lost only in a few of them. No. He will say that they are "no names". That is a nice excuse used by divas to avoid high risk challenge.

Kovalev is a soft champ. They obviously think that he is ripe enough for picking.margaret thatcher wrote: ↑22 Sep 2019, 20:52Ya, like he's doing right now by facing Kovalev instead of Derevyanchenkoboxing_rocks wrote: ↑22 Sep 2019, 20:46 No. He will say that they are "no names". Re: If Gvozdyk/Beterbiev winner will call out Canelo, assuming he beats Kovalev?
Be reasonable. Kovalev is still arguably top three in the world (LHW). Maybe he is ripe for the picking but that's because Canelo is that good or believes he is that good. Kovalev is a great scalp for anyone in the LHW division, let alone a SW or MW.boxing_rocks wrote: ↑22 Sep 2019, 22:39Kovalev is a soft champ.
