The 1st offense carries up to 30 days.

A guilty plea in my jurisdiction usually includes a 30 day sentence but with all 30 days suspended.

But the statute lists a few things called “aggravators” and if one of those is present the statute requires 4 days....this is the exact language.

“If any of the aggravating circumstances listed in subsection (11) of this section are present while the person was operating or in physical control of a motor vehicle, the mandatory minimum term of imprisonment shall be four (4) days, which term shall not be suspended, probated, conditionally discharged, or subject to any other form of early release.”

ESPN: Unified welterweight world titlist Errol Spence Jr. was in stable condition Thursday evening at a Dallas hospital after being involved in a serious one-car accident.

"Spence is awake and responding and is listed in stable condition," his representatives said in a statement. "He didn't sustain any broken bones or fractures but does have some facial lacerations. He is expected to make a full recovery."

Local news said he was in stable condition but was still in the hospital as of this morning

Why is spence still in the hospital

Could be doing scans on him etc over these days just to be sure he's totally okay and they've looked over everything. aND Wanting to make sure nothing develops etc. I've had many relatives who were in the hospital and had to stay there even after they felt totally good and at that point they were just dying to get home.

Though TBH I wouldn't be at all surprised if it's a bit worse than they let on with the 'just a few cracked teeth' stuff.
