Mundine has the speed and boxing skills to make it interesting for a while but ultimately Calzaghe's power would tell on Mundine's unpredictable chin. Mundine is a major player again now after his win over Green i would say.

You say that as if the only reason he would loose is because of his chin whic is clearly not the case. I think Calzaghe is both more skillful and more powerful than him.

If Joe produced the same desire as he did against Lacy,he would take Mundine out in 3,no problem.
Better fighter all round,by far.....

Calzaghe late stoppage. Mundine's speed wouldn't even be a factor against Joe.

A very good fight, Mundine may have the style thats all wrong for Calazage. A UD either way in a very skilled contest. Mundines chin isnt terrible at all and the shoeshinning JC won't win by KO. I'd like to see this fight.

Calazage looked like a boxing god against slow 1dimensional Lacy, but lets throw him in with a slick fast boxer like Mundine and you'll see he won't look quite as impressive.

If Kessler wins nearly every round then Joe will and Mundine looked good against a 1 dimensional Green too.

The best Mundine has fought he looses to except for Echols and Green.

I honestly think Calzaghe would rip Mundine apart. Mundine is a fantastic athlete, and he's transferred that natural ability to boxing. But against Calzaghe he'd come up against an athlete who's spent a lifetime in boxing. I can't see Mundine troubling Joe with his punch power, whilst I can see Joe hitting him time after time, after time. Calzaghe easy. Mundine is quick, and slick, no doubt. But Joe would, in my opinion, find a way to win quite easily. He can negate the best parts of Mundine's game, and come back with more.

Better fight than, say, Steiglitz though.

How do we know if calzaghe can "negate the best parts of Mundine's game"?

We know that Joe can negate power superbly, but I actually think there are two people that could beat Calzaghe. Kessler based on overall skill, and Mundine based on stylistic match-up.

Mundine has a style that we have never really seen Calzaghe deal with. calzaghe likes the strong fighter, whereas the slick fast fighter is something we don't know how he would handle. An old Eubank was awkward, but never really fast. Reid had ok technique but nor was he faster than Joe. Mundine is faster than Joe and it would be great to see what he will do about that.

Also Calzaghe does not have the reach of Siaca nor Kessler. Mundine was faster than both but the speed was to some extent negated by the longer reach. Against Calzaghe Mundine would get much much more out of having speed.

I would really like to see this fight.

Mundine didn't lose nearly every roud. i felt it was quite close, 7-4-1 for Kessler in rounds. Kessler had a devil of a time catching him clean

Kessler is very mechanical, Joe would be too fast and too busy, and would outwork Kessler.

Mundine's style could be a problem for Calzaghe, Lacy's lack of movement suited Calzaghe to a tee.

I don't want to upset anyone but Mundine would have a decent chance against Calzaghe. In the fright with Green he looked the best he ever has and the training off Roy Jones Snr has made him a far more confident fighter. He was very timid Vs Kessler but against Green he was confident and took Greens best shots well, I don't think his chin is a issue any more.

would be a good solid fight, one that i would look forward to.

looks like calzaghe's burned his bridges at HBO, who aren't well pleased & don't seem interested in him now. Hatton's unimpressive performance may have further put 'em off. not that i think JC and Warren are losing sleep over that - at all.

personally, i think his chances of a big American fight - Tarver, Wright, Taylor - are seriously in doubt. so it seems with that, and the nagging injuries, he's probably have a couple more s/m fights then call it a day

that's good, as i like to see a fighter stay in the same division and clean up

with the Glen Johnson debacle i have to wonder whether he feels certain about fighting light heavies.

wouldn't be surprised if Mudine, Green, Beyer or Kessler's services were called in

Well then, those judges must not be able to score well as one had it 120 - 108.

Will not happen Mundine can sell ppv in Oz and don't need to fight in britain for less money , remember he brought Kessler to Oz and paid him well, Mundine can draw better money in OZ than Warren would offer him.So they will offer him 2 plane tickets, accomadation in a b and b and 10,000,dollars to make the journey when told too fack off they will claim Mundines ducking them

Kessler won about 6 clearly and Mundine won about 4 clearly ,the judge that scored the fight 120-108 is a disgrace, I think Mundine is a dickhead but i still gave him 4 clear rounds.

Warren offered Mundine 50,000 in pounds so thats 50,000.00 GBP
United Kingdom Pounds=122,844.03 AUD
Australia Dollars.

Guess that wouldn't be too bad for Mundine to come here.

Mundine can get another crack at kessler, who went over to Oz last time. Mundine is his top contender again

Mundine just got paid 3.5 million for fighting Green, He gets almost 1 mil for fighting against patsies.

would warren even make the fight without wanting options on mundine, mundine's children & their childrens' children? i think we're all in agreement Mundine has a style that Calzaghe wouldn't mesh well with. shit, they would be better making the kessler unification

Agreed that was a joke scorem Kessler won but not every round, it was close until Kessler pulled away late on IMO.

Only in Austrailia he gets that.

Outside he'd have to settle for less.

definitely. one of the reasons why it was so close was because kessler landed very few clean shots
