Does he want a whoopin?
Your thoughts please Pundit.
You say that as if the only reason he would loose is because of his chin whic is clearly not the case. I think Calzaghe is both more skillful and more powerful than him.steve689 wrote:Mundine has the speed and boxing skills to make it interesting for a while but ultimately Calzaghe's power would tell on Mundine's unpredictable chin. Mundine is a major player again now after his win over Green i would say.
If Kessler wins nearly every round then Joe will and Mundine looked good against a 1 dimensional Green too.Phenomenal-Nutrition wrote:A very good fight, Mundine may have the style thats all wrong for Calazage. A UD either way in a very skilled contest. Mundines chin isnt terrible at all and the shoeshinning JC won't win by KO. I'd like to see this fight.
Calazage looked like a boxing god against slow 1dimensional Lacy, but lets throw him in with a slick fast boxer like Mundine and you'll see he won't look quite as impressive.
How do we know if calzaghe can "negate the best parts of Mundine's game"?states wrote:I honestly think Calzaghe would rip Mundine apart. Mundine is a fantastic athlete, and he's transferred that natural ability to boxing. But against Calzaghe he'd come up against an athlete who's spent a lifetime in boxing. I can't see Mundine troubling Joe with his punch power, whilst I can see Joe hitting him time after time, after time. Calzaghe easy. Mundine is quick, and slick, no doubt. But Joe would, in my opinion, find a way to win quite easily. He can negate the best parts of Mundine's game, and come back with more.
Better fight than, say, Steiglitz though.
Mundine didn't lose nearly every roud. i felt it was quite close, 7-4-1 for Kessler in rounds. Kessler had a devil of a time catching him cleanMax Molyneux wrote:If Kessler wins nearly every round then Joe will and Mundine looked good against a 1 dimensional Green too.Phenomenal-Nutrition wrote:A very good fight, Mundine may have the style thats all wrong for Calazage. The best Mundine has fought he looses to except for Echols and Green.
Kessler is very mechanical, Joe would be too fast and too busy, and would outwork Kessler.Deram wrote:How do we know if calzaghe can "negate the best parts of Mundine's game"?states wrote:I honestly think Calzaghe would rip Mundine apart. We know that Joe can negate power superbly, but I actually think there are two people that could beat Calzaghe. Kessler based on overall skill, and Mundine based on stylistic match-up.
Mundine has a style that we have never really seen Calzaghe deal with. calzaghe likes the strong fighter, whereas the slick fast fighter is something we don't know how he would handle. An old Eubank was awkward, but never really fast. Reid had ok technique but nor was he faster than Joe. Mundine is faster than Joe and it would be great to see what he will do about that.
Also Calzaghe does not have the reach of Siaca nor Kessler. Mundine was faster than both but the speed was to some extent negated by the longer reach. Against Calzaghe Mundine would get much much more out of having speed.
I would really like to see this fight.
Well then, those judges must not be able to score well as one had it 120 - 108.viciousmaussa wrote:Mundine didn't lose nearly every roud. i felt it was quite close, 7-4-1 for Kessler in rounds. Kessler won about 6 clearly and Mundine won about 4 clearly ,the judge that scored the fight 120-108 is a disgrace, I think Mundine is a dickhead but i still gave him 4 clear rounds.Max Molyneux wrote:Well then, those judges must not be able to score well as one had it 120 - 108.viciousmaussa wrote:Mundine didn't lose nearly every roud. i felt it was quite close, 7-4-1 for Kessler in rounds. Mundine can get another crack at kessler, who went over to Oz last time. United Kingdom Pounds=122,844.03 AUD
Australia Dollars.
Guess that wouldn't be too bad for Mundine to come here.
Agreed that was a joke scorem Kessler won but not every round, it was close until Kessler pulled away late on IMO.viciousmaussa wrote:I know, it was an outrage.Max Molyneux wrote:Well then, those judges must not be able to score well as one had it 120 - 108.viciousmaussa wrote:Mundine didn't lose nearly every roud. i felt it was quite close, 7-4-1 for Kessler in rounds. definitely. one of the reasons why it was so close was because kessler landed very few clean shotssteve689 wrote:Agreed that was a joke scorem Kessler won but not every round, it was close until Kessler pulled away late on IMO.viciousmaussa wrote:I know, it was an outrage.Max Molyneux wrote: Well then, those judges must not be able to score well as one had it 120 - 108.
