Most of them were forced to lie down. Sonny's power was very realAntonioMartin wrote: ↑12 Nov 2019, 18:08TBH Liston doesn't impress me as much. His ko percentage was 75 percent I think, very good but, I guess his power tends to be over rated among us. Although George Foreman did attest to his power so I don't know.
Also his connections are suspicious to me, how many of his opponents were told to lay down???

Earl Hargrove
Alfonso Zamora
Eder Jofre
Bob Foster
Battling Torres
My old time personal friend Juan Carazo
Marvelous Marvin Hagler
Fulgencio Obelmejias
Gervonta Davis
Erik Morales
Acelino Freitas
Jack Johnson
Jorge Castro
Felix Trinidad
Frank Bruno
Aaron Pryor
Ruben Olivares
Danny Lopez
Jose Cuevas
Fritzie Zivic
Sugar Ramos
Jimmy Wilde
Ron Lyle
Victor Callejas
Alexis Arguello
Bobby Chacon
Boom Boom Mancini
Edwin Rosario
Jose Luis Ramirez
All have to be in the league...
I would take out Zivic, Obelmejuas, Jack Johnson, Bruno, Callejas, and Hargrave. Move down Duran and Valero a level. Gervanta Davis and Acelino Frietas are iffy.
Would put in Joe Louis, Bob Fitzsimmons, Max Baer, Ray Leonard, Lennox Lewis, and Archie Moore. I'm sure there are many others that could be added.

The very old timers Fitzsimmons and Ketchel were top notch punchers in their day

You also forgot one of the all-time greatest punchers pound per pound in the great Sandy Saddler. Check out his record. Unbelievable puncher!AntonioMartin wrote: ↑13 Nov 2019, 19:53Can't believe I forgot Joe LouisAmbling Alp II wrote: ↑13 Nov 2019, 12:02

!!! Top 20 all time defo. Sugar Ray Leonard, love the guy, God bless him but I left him out on purpose, 25 ko's out of 36 wins like Sonny Liston very very good but not top notch IMO> Max Baer another overlook by my part. Lennox is arguable, he could hit for sure but he was also an excellent stylist soo......he's arguable. And I had Archie in my top list...

I think Danny Lopez should be in tier one. What a puncher he was.

Yet another example of how KO% can be deceiving. You have to take into the quality of competition.

Through the years it's a pretty high percentage of posters using it as gospel that don't even know how to properly calculate it.Ambling Alp II wrote: ↑15 Nov 2019, 14:53 Yet another example of how KO% can be deceiving. You have to take into the quality of competition.
