I know but he said he would come in at 240 for the Fury rematch.

EDIT: Just seen a video filmed this week and Wilder said he's 225lb at the moment.

The first day of Wilder-Ortiz 2 fight week activities begins this afternoon with the grand arrivals of the PPV fighters taking place at the MGM Grand Lobby. Fight fans are welcome to attend.

2:00 p.m. – Luis Nery & Emmanuel Rodriguez
2:20 p.m. – Brandon Figueroa & Julio Ceja
2:40 p.m. – Leo Santa Cruz & Miguel Flores
3:00 p.m. – Deontay Wilder & Luis Ortiz

Other *open to the public* activities are Wednesday public workouts (Wilder and Ortiz not attending) starting at 11 a.m. on the MGM Grand Casino Floor (next to TAP and the Race & Sports Book), and the final weigh-ins at 2:30 p.m. on Friday inside the MGM Grand Garden Arena

I think ortiz is patient and really cautious in this. I think wilder is a bit cautious too. I see a dull affair where wilder wins a close decision

He does look great. For some reason I thought Ortiz was just coming to survive but seeing him now maybe he’s coming to win.

Ortiz HAS to know he needs a KO here. Especially since he was clearly appearing to be ahead in the first fight and the judges had him trailing. The money behind Wilder has only increased since so now Ortiz REALLY needs a KO. Wilder knows he's got the judges in his pocket here. Thats a big advantage for any fighter. One knows he doesnt really need to take chances. The other knows he has to. Knowing you have to take risks against a savage puncher like Wilder is a tough spot to be in.

Wilder since the last many years is usually 220+, mostly around 225 and sometimes almost 230 and still looking in good nick.. 240 isn't actually THAT huge of a jump, but doubt it would be a help though, he already has the power and gaining weight might just make him slower and with less stamina

On another note, this guy is 6'7, with a huge wingspan, averaging about 225 and still ripped at almost 230. Yet he gets used in the history section as a guy whose success shows size doesn't matter

I can’t agree with your assertions about Wilder’s weight.

Calculate his average weight against top-ten Ring-ranked opposition and then review the equivalent figure for the low calibre opponents he faced.

It makes for very interesting reading.

With Fox broadcasters Kenny Albert and Chris Myers, both of whom handle blow-by-blow duties for Fox boxing events, both assigned to call NFL games on Sunday and unavailable to work the Deontay Wilder-Luis Ortiz II Fox PPV card on Saturday night in Las Vegas, Brian Kenny will handle duties with regular Fox analysts Lennox Lewis and Joe Goossen. Kenny, who used to work Premier Boxing Champions cards for Fox, now works as a blow-by-blow announcer for DAZN. However, according to sources, the two broadcasters worked it out so Kenny could fill in and work the Fox PPV event.

However since speed goes first (and Ortiz's speed has definitely gone) Luis is going to get 'starched out' Saturday night.

Deontay Wilder’s official ring weight for against Tyson Fury was only 209lbs.

'The Bronze Bomber' has a reputation for competing "light" against opposition he perceives as being legitimate threats to his title reign.

Wilder usually weighs around the 225lbs to 230lbs mark against all the other guys he’s heavily-favoured to beat.

The Showtime/Fox commentary teams persistently labour over this point whilst covering his bouts, which is clearly supported by his BoxRec stats.

His median weight throughout his career is around 223. Not sure why any of this means anything really. He was coming off the flu for the first Ortiz fight and he was too light for the Fury fight. Those two were the anomolies. Last 7 fights: 223.5/212.5/214.75/220.75/222/226.25/228.75. Vs Ortiz II...???

He looked shredded in the lastest PBC vid from today. He could put on 15 more pounds and still be savagely cut.
