:TU: Really enjoyed that fight, it’s rare you see anyone hurt or dropped in women’s boxing, that was a very pleasant change.
A local gym to me has a girl with 10 stoppages in 14 fights. Most hit the floor. She’s 13.

Was at that fight. McIntyre was something like 9/1 to win that one.

Allen vs Price is a good one - Allen got proper exposed for what he actually is, and all the talk of world titles has been put to bed for good.

He was being lined up to fight Povetkin on ppv.

He probably will.... she’s already European champion, stopping a Ukrainian in one and then avenging a defeat against the Irish champion in the final. All two years after coming to watch her brother train.

Laing beating Duran, because it scuppered a superfight between Duran and Tony Ayala scheduled for late 1982. Danny McAlinden getting clobbered by unknown American Morris Jackson in 1973 cost him a Joe Bugner showdown.

Charlie Magri losing to Juan Diaz, a Mexican journeyman who properly upset the applecart as Charlie was WBC no.1 contender who actually beat Santos Laciar on points only to get stopped by Diaz (and later on by Jose Torres...) on the verge of a title shot.

I always felt Mitchell losing to Burns wasn’t part of the plan.

I doubt Tyson would have fought Klitchsko - I know Williams got the fight after, but no way did Tyson have the heart for that type of fight at that stage.

Laing-Duran every time for me in the “big upsets” category. King would speak to Duff for a few years thereafter as a result. Article by one writer in Boxing News expressed the concern that Laing’s life would be at risk against Duran. Wonderful performance by Kirk.
