Who cares? The op is asking about the body stuff that was always laughable. Beating a hooker and smoking weed puts him nowhere near a boxing bad guy anyway.

True .
However during his fighting career the American audience always had a bit of an issue with his dual British / Canadian status
Seems to me that the Brits were the ones with that issue. USA didn't give a fk.
Poppycock !

I don't really care, who Wilder is in his life out of boxing, but his "bad" image is OK, it's entertaining.

I am old enough to remember when Lennox was first making a name for himself on the international scene probably around 93/94 , he said himself that the US media and fans had a problem getting behind him as he was of Canadian / British heritage .

anyway my point was really that US fans are still hung on the past particularly with Mike Tyson .

I personally was never a Tyson fan.
But I'm more than old enough to remember Lennox Lewis career.
Hell I remember Foreman turning pro

I think Wilder is probably a decent person. I remember when Artur Szpilka was injured in their fight together and he got on the microphone and expressed concern for him. He also has a daughter with a disability who wants to provide well for. I think he’s just a competitive guy who gets carried away sometimes with the tough guy act, but I don’t sense vindictiveness in him.
