Not really. Just got caught. He was winning every second of the fight up til then.
He got hurt in the second as well, with Kownacki getting caught is a routine thing. He'd just been able to take it better up till now.

Did you throw that yard?
I did
I assume Throwing a yard is slang for betting a certain amount, but what amount we talking here?

At any rate congrats on the win. That's a sweet payoff at 9/1

I don't think Arreola hurt him. Either way, you said he was winning every second, he wasn't. He was winning but he got rocked and back up in round 2

He hasn't taken his entire career seriously.
True..
You'd think he'd put in some training this time around if he's stepping up in competition..but such is the modern day heavyweight..

I wish we were still doing our HW list.
That loss would have dropped Kownacki possibly out of the top 15.
Interesting to see where he lands on boxrec after that.

Never said he was, his limitations were clear before. If anything was exposed it was that he doesn't have the chin required to take it up a level

In 2 the span of 2 weeks my dream match bites the dust: Wilder vs Kownascki.

What do we have to look forward to now? Fury vs Helenius?

Poor Adam.
Hell could turn out good for him. Wilder's confidence may be shot to hell if he gets beat in the 3rd fight with Fury like he got in the 2nd.
Im going with this is a lesson learned for Wilder. Fury did put him under pressure then caught him good and with no legs any fighter looks like s*it. I do have faith in Wilder's ability to grow from this and give us a good 3rd fight.

Im still going with that Adam would be eaten by Wilder if he needs to vent and get a good egoboost from a second loss.

No. He got beat. This is a term that gets way overused, and frankly never really fits. It usually just annoys me. He got "exposed" what does that even mean? Were we supposed to have thought Kownacki was invincible until he lost?

Anybody that knows Boxing could see Kownacki's weaknesses as they were fairly obvious. Him getting caught by a big puncher in a slugfest isn't some revelation of a weakness that we didn't previously know existed. It was just Kownacki being Kownacki, and losing a fight.

Just because we all knew his weaknesses doesn't mean he can't be exposed.

If a basketball team shoots terrible from the free throw line but keeps winning and winning, then finally they lose a game due to bad free throw shooting, they've still been exposed.

Kownacki got away with his fatness and his bad defense for quite a while. It finally caught up to him. Maybe that's a better way to say it: his weaknesses caught up to him.

But "exposed" is better. He got exposed as fat and having no defense, even though we could all clearly see how fat he was, and that he had no defense. Sorry, that's just how it is.

He dropped down to 14 on my rankings down from #7. Helenius who wasn't previously in my Top 20 re-entered at #11. off of that win.

More importantly though he's mandatory now for the WBA, and I would assume he'll bide his time until he gets that mandatory shot.

Was that a final eliminator? Or just eliminator? Surely not him for the real WBA belt? Mabey WBA gold or reg. But please not for real belts.

Before that fight I had both outside my top 20 I think. And they will both probly stay there.

The division isn't deep enough for them to both be outside the top 20

Maybe Helenius takes Fres' spot as the guy forever waiting for his mandatory. Maybe he'll wind up going to court about it

Come to think of it.

Helenius vs Fres for the Interim title. Problem solved. 2 birds with one stone

If he's in any kinda mandatory position I can't imagine he f*cks with that. He's not the kinda guy that can safely assume victory against really anybody in the Top 30. So if he's on deck for a title shot, he better just sit his happy ass down until he gets that title shot

Nothing wrong with Kownacki's chin; it's his head defense which needs 100% improvement. He fights like a cave man. Eventually he was going to get stopped.

Needs to train head movement 7 days a week for 6-8 months before he fights again. Can't keep blocking punches with his face.
