I don't know what sounds harder to me: to drink as much as you do when you do drink, or go 10 days with no alcohol? That sounds downright draconian.
I'm a different sort with my indulgences.
I was going a bit too hard out of boredom. I'm going to drink Thursday for the draft. Though my cable just went out. That could change things.
When the lockdown started I was drinking 10/12 beers a night 500ml cans of Stella then after about 10 days I thought I need to calm down and I stopped and I went hiking or on my bike for 2 hours and started intermittent fasting not eating for 18 hours a day I did that for 10 days then I had a bit of a break and I was drinking over the weekend but I'm back to not drinking and fasting from today , I'll see how long I last

In addition to drinking roughly 100 to 120 500ml cans of Stella Artois for the first ten days, what else were you eating during that time?
Did you put any weight on? 25,000 calories' worth of beer consumed in ten days seems a lot to me, especially if you ate a lot of food during that period as well.
I drink a fair bit, but I'm an novice in comparison to those numbers.

I was eating normally I put 4/5 pounds on it's hard to tell as I fluctuate a bit , it didn't help that I'm in construction and burn off a lot of calories a day at work I have a Fitbit and I normally burn 3800 calories a day going by that .I did notice a scary thing though my resting heart rate went from 70 bpm when drinking down to 58 after a week of not drinking and exercising , and it's back to 64 after I was drinking over the weekend.

I was going either a fifth of bourbon or 12-15 pints. I almost buried a handle of bourbon the day before my dry out.

Holy crap guys. I can get a hangover these days from any more than 2 drinks. The idea of drinking 2 gallons of beer in a day is horrific.

I know the feeling ,it would be nice to have 2/3 pints then go home and not carry it on .

I don't get hangovers.
I never get a headache. Just feel a bit dehydrated.

You must have noticed the extra money as well Paddy. Have you worked out your rough annual beersies bill?
Heck, if I was chugging 50 beers a week, it is the sort of number that which home brewing makes good financial sense

I normally have 5/6 a night so 10/12 was extreme but yeah I notice the difference in my wallet when not drinking . The beer i was drinking was brought pre lock down to last for 4/6 weeks there was a sale on 3 crates for the price of 2 but I'm no good at rationing I'm going just stop for a while anyway.

I drink ridiculous amounts of water. I'm more likely to over hydrate.
Yeah I remember you saying about that famous water intake. Seems crazy, over hydration is a thing. Do you eat more salt/potassium rich food etc to compensate ?

I cut back to about a gallon and a half. Even less now that I'm locked down. I also used to walk 10-15 miles a week.
