Dean pretty much summed it up, there is alot of profiles etc on here who think we are serious, even Alba would have to back it up we actually just rip the piss, said same to him in person I do it to amuse myself. We do believe ronnie deserves better and he deserves a shot though, he has worked hard, took risks, had some dodgy score cards etc but when he is beaten I say it. That night in Coventry I said he did not do enough and stick to that to the day. A close fight that in truth cant expect to win.

He has trained in Ireland for his past 10 fights basically with Tony dunlop and Mark dunlop managing him, james tennyson team but of course his injuries etc his contract finished. He may go back over though I dont know. He has always worked with terry mccormack at lochend too but he works with alot of trainers there isnt any tie down hes done work with dean in Birmingham, imran naeem in the north east , I'm sure hes worked with barry smith in marbella, hes a sponge and always wants to learn. MTK my honest answer is if I was to pick I'd say resign with mark dunlop. But I know certain people have different views on it. What ever he does well support it.

His bro’s do come across crazy sometimes on here and always have  but there good guys in person and you can have a good conversation about boxing with them, and they too are humble, I understand why there so fearsomely loyal and defending of Ronnie and supportive of him and his career and why shouldn’t they be, they know him best and what he faces and all he puts into the sport, and I know like most who is involved in the sport just how rubbish and a let down and unfair this game can be and I suppose sometimes they show that, but that’s passion for there brother and what they want to see him achieve and what they believe he deserves for all his efforts and sacrifices.

2 years out the ring and god knows how much longer due to this pandemic along with injuries at 35yrs old might be a bit too far to come back from for Ronnie, I hope not, be good to see him get a couple of decent warm up fights on a decent show undercard and build him up to a bigger fight and that way be able to see if the time off and injuries have taken any effect, let Ronnie know lads I was asking about him and he always knows where I am if he ever needs anything :TU:
Top man Dean.. As much as the politics of boxing get on top of everyone, some of the people in boxing are the best people you will ever meet. As much as the Fight against Troy was disappointing. We are honest people Jamie had a draw or Troy winning by 1 round and I had Ronnie winning by 1 round. Loses are hard to take but thanks to you I think this is one of the fights Ronnie learned most from. Every loss whether deserved or not should be a positive. He has never been outclassed and every fight has been close even when he hasn’t performed or had a proper camp. I know Ronnie is forever grateful for the help and advice you have given him. Definitely one of the good guys in boxing. I hope you and the family are doing well and keeping safe

Thanks mate, means a lot, yes we are all good thanks, hope you all are too,

I’ve got a huge soft spot for Ronnie and he’s my kind of person, first time I ever spoke to him you can tell, he means what he says and is willing to do everything he said, he’s a no bul lshit, hard working, respectful fella and willing to learn and do absolutely what ever it takes, I genuinely can’t think of any other fighter and i know and have worked with/along side so many including world champions that is willing to rough it to such a extreme and do some of the things I’ve known Ronnie to do just to try and learn and develop and get to where he wants to get too, just for the love of the sport and wanting to achieve.

I will always back him and always be there for what ever he needs, if
He needs it or I can help, I will, again plz pass him my best and let him know I was asking about him :TU:

Regarding the Troy fight, I knew and still know how to and what beats Ronnie (and I won’t be the only one) hence we delivered his first loss, but I also know how Ronnie can and will beat almost all domestic lads he comes across as long has he has a trainer in place and a team, something he’s never really had, or permanent one unfortunately, if he had say me training him or another permanent trainer in place (no disrespect to his team that night) against Troy he would of and could of beat Troy, but he just didn’t have a answer or instructions on how to adjust to our game plan and by the time he just decided to throw caution to the wind and just try and steam Troy the fight was already well out his grasp except for a knockout which we was confident he wouldn’t be able to
Do has Troy had a great chin and could really take a shot at that time in his career, but he made it a bit closer with his pressure towards the end but we had him losing by 3 rounds, but was no shame, the only difference between him winning that night and losing was having a team and someone who could give instructions to him that had taught him how to adapt in a fight and do different things, but I agree after Ronnie came to work with me after that and looking at his later fights he had improved loads and always is willing to learn, again he just needs a team in place and I hope he gets it, lesser talented fighters and well looked after lads get it so why shouldn’t he with all he has and is willing to put in, but in this sport unfortunately you don’t always get what you deserve and it is if your face fits sometimes and it’s not right and is so frustrating, but go on the shark, do what you got to do son :box:

I had Ronnie winning soundly that night against Zelfa. Did Zelfa take the fight on 3 weeks notice though? He doesn’t seem the type. Heard his team turn down a few names

Big compliment for Ronnie there. Tbh aside form the sometimes funny threads, the man does seem like a very genuine old school fighter who deserves something more from the game than he’s had.

Zelfa was always going to be fighting ronnie, they tried to hold off as long as they could. Zelfa should have fought ronnie after his Osejo fight but circumstance it didnt happen. Zelfa actually expects people to believe that he had less notice than Ronnie, it's just insane. They always knew it was happening they delayed as long as they could to throw ronnie off hence the reason ronnie took a fight in belfast before it, to get a win and be eligible to fight for a title. The boxing politics suggest zelfa is talking nonsense. Also zelfa using the 12 rounds as an excuse yet they wanted 12 round fight. The one excuse that would have been viable was he struggled at the weight, he didnt have the power to put ronnie off or backwards and the amount of times ronnie hurt him was unreal. We forget zelfa was warned around 6 times for illegal shots below and was losing his gum shield when in trouble. Watching it live for me it wasnt close. Man against boy in there.

Thought so pal. He’s making himself look a right mug, I don’t particularly like how he comes across he half insults a fighter than quickly hides behind “it’s just my
Opinion”

From what I've seen Zelfa has been pretty respectful about Ronnie in every interview I've seen since the fight, with Hearn at the wheel and the risk/reward I see zero chance of a re-match happening

He’s been slyly respectful. Don’t get me wrong he calls him a great fighter (he’s a decent one) but says how he took it on such notice, didn’t train right and a bunch of other excuses

Zelfa talks himself up and puts the rest down. For someone who was humbled he isnt very humble. Rewatch the fight zelfa fitness was nothing to do with it, it was a difference in power. He was out worked and hell never outwork ronnie as that's all about minerals, ronnie will outwork most in the division. Zelfa landed with exact same shots against ronnie than he landed against mccorry and Woodstock. Ronnie stopped mccorry at his worst and mccorry at his best and woodstock is no where near it for ronnie. There is a rumour in boxing that south paws are a complete nightmare and that was the problem.

Problem with Zelfa is he was actually really good against Ronnie.. His fitness was incredible to get up from that knockdown and to take some of the shots he took in the last few rounds showed that. Zelfa was still trying to fight in the 12th. I have followed Zelfa for a long time and actually like him as a fighter.. I know Zelfa was at his best v Ronnie and he lost against a better man who was stylistically all wrong for him.. I believe Zelfa has went backwards since that fight because he can not accept the loss properly. The Zelfa that fought Ronnie beats Martin J Ward, Jono Carroll and Anto Cacace however the one that beat Woodstock I’m not so sure about and McCorry is made for Zelfa. Yes can be honest and say there is far easier fights for Zelfa than Ronnie so I don’t see it happening. Zelfa will have a couple of fights then fight Carroll or Ward and probably win. Soon as he hits someone like Berchelt he will get badly beaten in the same way.. Ronnie’s best option would be Carroll, Ward or Cordina but I don’t see them happening especially the Ward or Carroll fight.. As a fan I want to see all those fights made and have them all fighting each other.. As a brother I want Jono Carroll or Ward as they are the easier fights

Not a chance either would be Ronnie.. Carroll does not have the power to keep Ronnie off and would walk onto shots. If you try and go toe to toe with Ronnie you get knocked out. Carroll is a decent boxer but Ronnie carries far more power.. As for Cacace he struggled with Ronnie when he was not serious about boxing. He did not take that fight serious and was at best 50%.. If Ronnie is anywhere near the level he was at after the Zelfa fight I believe he beats all the uk Superfeather’s but time will tell.. Styles make fights Cacace is big and would try and fight at distance using his jab. Ronnie would need to get at him Ronnie would 100% take that fight tomorrow

Cacace looked terrible against Ward. He's beaten Bowen who just tries to walk through opponents. He's probably beat Clark but on that Ward showing I have no faith in him.

Never approached MTK. Hes spent time in marbella sparring Tom stalker etc and I believe there are people like jamie conlan, stalker and Vaughn who have all spent time with him, hes just never asked to sign. He may go there I have no clue, if it's me I believe back in belfast is a good option.

I don’t think a prime Pep has the power to keep Ronnie off him.
Pep wasn’t the best swimmer and the shark would drown him.

All jokes aside I don’t agree with a lot of what’s been said but you’ve got to admire the loyalty they offer to Ronnie. They always back him and he’s lucky to have people like that supporting him.

I thought he nicked the Ward fight and Ward is proven European level.
I just can’t see how Ronnie is still in his prime.
34 and inactive for 2 years. Also he’s had a tough career. Especially mentally with all the politics he’s had behind the scenes.

I hope he gets a decent fight and makes a few quid.
But I can’t see him getting another big fight. Not the most marketable and able to upset the applecart on his day.

MTK boys read these forums and no doubt they are very clued up on everyone in boxing. If they are interested I am sure they will be in touch.. That’s more the management side and would be great to have MTK take him on... If Eddie gave Ronnie the same chance he gave Sean Dodd or Dave Allen then he would be at least European Champion.. He just need the chance with a run of 3-4 fights.. Give Ronnie a good team and he will give you his all. He is also a massive character let that come out
