Agree mate he’s like a seasoned old pro in that Zelda fight. Shame he’s getting all sorts of crazy advice. He needs to get in with a firm who do regular shows.
Aye MTK is best bet for him if his head is right. See they have a gym in Holytown?
Aye mate I’ve been in a couple of times. Very well equipped 👌🏼

Its danny Vaughn gym and he doesnt any of the scottish fighters I dont think. People dont realise that boxing is like real life, its about who you know. Looking at Declan Gerahty. You believe MTK would have stuck with him if he wasnt a friend? Not a chance he hasnt even got to Irish title level, same with Steve Collins junior who retired and MTK have given him a job, man didnt even win an Irish title. Ronnie comes from a small city in Dundee where boxing isnt supported and despite having a nice wee following it's just not that marketable here, sports like cricket, pool and darts are better suited for here. :)

I used to see a bird who stays up behind it in the wee scheme bit. Quite a nice looking place considering all the shite you hear about it! It's like the Hamptons compared to places like where we grew up

I thought that Brophy fought outta there? It's a random place to have a gym if there isn't any Scots lads there! You have Motherwell right next door who have produced a few decent fighters. That McFadden lad is from near there i think? Surprising he doesn't use it!

Yeah boxing is a pals game and it's full of so called 'pals' who would stab you in the back as soon as blink! It tends to attract shady fukkers like Morrison, Hughes etc.. and that's just up here. Gilmour is a fuckin rubber faced knob piece as well!

Holywell is danny Vaughn gym, Reece McFadden trains in Glasgow with Joe Ham senior. Danny vaughn trains the Asian kid, sean McComb and Sam Maxwell who all live above the gym in a flat. No Scottish fighters but they do run classes etc from the gym and it's a public gym. David Brophy has retired and as far as I am aware now has his own gym and is also Billy Nelson's 2nd in corners.

Boxing is unreal. We comment on here and people can make there own assumptions but we are just normal straight talking people, we arnt really boxing people and say what we think, biased towards ronnie of course but we arnt two faced etc, boxing used to be on a pedestal in our family but since ronnie came into it we have realised the people really are disgusting and sport is rotten to the core, look at the guy liam cameron, that's horrific. I feel bad slating boxing as honestly the boxers and the genuine trainers are usually bang on, it's the trainers who wanna conflict interest who are a joke.

Not sure mate. I'm sure they'll need cleaners and legal folk etc... Especially legal folk  Would be a good thing to do when you finished up fighting though eh? You are one of the better ones to ask! Would you have taken a job if it kept you in the sport? How was your transition when you stopped?

Life is a lot easier without fighting but a bit boring. Of course if you take on a job you want to know the score, a nice legal thing would be a touch, if you have to be running around it normally catches up with you.

I get what you mean mate. I only boxed amateur and never had any desire to go pro because i didn't take it seriously enough but i miss it if i go to an am show! I don't when i go to a pro show lol. It's the same if i go to watch my boy play football. Makes me miss it.

A job with that lot would be a jaunt in the dark! You'd never know wtf was happening! Fuckin folk shot at a weigh in ffs  I think Jamie Moore got shot because he was running about with em as well didn't he? Fukk that!

They do seem to keep a lot of ex boxers on the payroll

Just when they thought they were out, they pulled them back in

Or maybe they are just good businessmen - who knows?

Boxing is full of shady bastards for sure but so is most walks of life, it’s finding the bastard that does the best job for you. Ronnie needs to fight his way back. No question. Sitting waiting and hoping he will be given a lucky break is counter productive. Whoever keeps him the busiest is going to best.

Why I said Ireland, someone he has an existing relationship with, has ties to matchroom and puts on his own shows. Mtk promote 2 shows a year in Scotland and 100 percent would not want ronnie to win in any fight they put him in, they arnt big enough in Scotland is my reasoning.

The easiest way to cope with not boxing is to stay well away from the gym, if you do a bit you will get drawn back in.
However you do need some excitement in your life otherwise you will turn to drink and drugs. Fortunately I found enough excitement, helped a lot working on the door and doing a good bit of travelling, now I am content with the quiet life, I'm prob a bit burnt out! Being on. Wrong side of 40 helps too

I don't do the gym anymore tbh mate. It's been a long time. I used to have a bit of a wild life even after i'd calmed down! It's cost me a marriage and another failed relationship with another girl i have kids with! It's also gotten me stabbed, slashed, battered, criminal record, strain on other relationships with friends and family etc... Jailed and lost a good job when i was younger, Pumped more daft birds than i can even count! I am pretty boring now though i do drink too much and have the occasional line or two! I work and very rarely go out now  I have always found it hard to find pleasure in things that aren't a result of me getting fukked up! Sad but true...
